Episode 5. I can't wait for the timeskip to see older Thorfinn, I like him as a character, them vikings are scum.

Seeing Ylva broken was just sad.

 

Episode 6.

Umm Thorfinn? What the fuk? Did that woman die? but they helped you? Couldn't you at least have said something to your people? Ok idk how I feel about this. Wasn't Thorfinn supposed to be a good guy? But now he is causually joining the crew who killed his father?

Seeing the look on woman's face who took care of him when she saw Thorfinn killing their guys was just....idk how I feel about this.

Will Thorfinn's VA change now since he kinda grew up? The voice doesn't fit him anymore or is that just me?

 

Episode 7.

Wow they actually changed the VA, I love it. Askeladd is making a foot out of Thorfinn.

I like his style, a dual wield rogue. Ok so when is the duel happening? Surely Thorfinn is strong enough?

 

Episode 8.

The more I watch Vinalnd Saga the more I don't like it. First episodes were decent. Then the timeskip came. What is the writer expecting? Me to continue thinking the DUEL is something serious? If anything he made me think the DUEL is some sort of a joke. Thorfinn fought him like 3 times already and everytime Askeladd wins. What's the point in doing that? What is the writer showcasing with Thorfinn losing? That he is not strong? Sure, but can't it not be shown differently? Not through DUELS. It's a joke at this point. I don't even take it seriously I just laugh it off. How's Thorfinn not ashamed with himself. The whole crew is laughing at him and I bet you he will still continue following Askeladd. That's such shit writing IMO. Why doesn't he just leave that guy and find him later? The way Askeladd is using Thorfinn like a joke is just not fun to watch. There are so many ways to make it more interesting than this atm.

I like Thorfinn but the anime makes me hate him how stupid he is sometimes. I don't think I've ever seen a character which makes me hate him at moments and then like him at moments.

I know people are rating this anime highly but bloody hell I just don't see what's SO great about it. Sure it's a decent anime portraying Viking times and that but bruh...the way MC is being shown it's just shit. If the DUEL happens one more time and Thorfinn doesn't win, I drop this anime that second. It's becoming a joke.

So far anime followed the same route. DUEL ->Thorfinn loses -> more fighting -> DUEL -> Thorfinn loses -> more fighting...idk I'm just on the fence atm.

If anything the animation was great and the fight scene was decent.

 

But what's the point. Does that one win from Thorfinn really count as a win(when it happens) if you lose like 50 times against the same guy who literally could have killed him 50 times?

If anything it shows how stupid that is if in 50 times ratio you win only 1. (which should be his revenge)

1 win - 50 losses. What is the writer trying to showcase? How shit Thorfinn is everytime? I mean it gets boring after the 2nd Duel, not 50 of them. (if he keeps battling Askeladd).

At least now, in ep 9. they show Thorkell and that's one of the ways to make the story interesting and showcase how weak Thorfinn is, but that I can dig.(even though Thorkell as well makes fun of him like everyone else does, even he thinks of him as a joke).

When I think of revenge I think of one battle = one win. How's that a revenge if you lose more times than you win, that to me shows that Thorfinns so called pride is absolute joke. Where's the pride in losing to same guy and then act happy if you win? It's even worse if after 50 times someone spared you, you actually kill him the first time you get the attempt to. But he is a kid so it doesn't matter?

 

When that happens I'd feel more like "finally it happend for Godness sakes" than OMFG HE ACTUALLY DONE DID IT.

sigh so you indirectly telling me he possibly dies in the last episodes?

Idk I hate dropping anime so I will finish it, hopefully the story will pick itself now.

 

Episode 9.

Thorkell, what a boss, I was just waiting for him to just ZEHAHAHAHA meme the whole thing. Absolute madman, Thorfinn getting injured was obivous. Welp at least that's a different way to showcase his weakness.

Also can you stop for Godness sakes talking about THE REWARD and that duel Jesus Christ. Focus on fighting and getting stronger, how can someone be this deluded.

Canute has that I'm a great fighter aura. Could be wrong this time but feels to me he is that one wonderkid who is just narutally good at everything he does.

 

Episode 10. was boring for the most part. So the prince isn't anything special in the end? I don't know why's Askeladd trying to get closer to Thorfinn.

Thorkell is a madman confirmed.

 

Episode 11. Ma man Thorkell is the strongest warrior then atm? So...Canute is a trap? Great....

 

Episode 12.

Again boring for the most part. The prince is a wuss. I mean...great, isn't it... When the Welsh came, the commander's armor looked like Rome's armor a bit lol I was like wtf it's the Romans?

Surprise, surprise....an ambush. As if it will ever go smooth.
