"The Wards are all to prevent people from breaking into the room and also to prevent damage to the books and other more frail items they aren't the type to do damage... wait a another planet? No wonder this feels so unique and interesting... Sorry, I um have good hearing " Irena tells Dessa having overheard her. She takes note of this information she seems giddy and excited more so than before she wants to learn more and is trying hard to not burst out into questions, and theories.
"I would say assuming Shockwave is okay with it the first part will work however I am uncertain if Shockwave would be able to maneuver it and activate the glow rod, not having been born with a magic circulatory system, it be based all on how his brain sends signals to his body," Esca says to Dessa as they watch.

 

"I do not know if this is a good idea." Shockwave agrees, trying to replicate what he was being advised to do and again, nothing happened. "There, I tried. Nothing happened, again, we should call it a day and cease the trials for now."

He shrugged. "Maybe I just wasn't meant to do magic, regardless of the planet."

 

Abie stops they are smiling as opposed to Irena who is shaking her legs her eyes wide behind her glasses. "If you were meant to or not is fine, I am glad you tried," Abie tells shockwave then turns their attention to Irena "Calm down will you, its very unbecoming." They tell her she looks at them annoyed.
"I was hoping it would work I was thinking it might and got a bit optimistic," Esca says having seen the results.
"It's fine, it was not a failure we learned plenty. If Shockwave ever manages to use magic in some way please let me know" Abie tells them. Abie then looks at the clock "Well I have only two hours left before classes begin for me today" They say as the look around spotting a large binder with tearing along the binds filled with different colours of paper and a discolourization of being just generally worn out. They bend down picking it up, their face grimaces a bit.
"Esca how has your stories come?" Abie asks her. "Um I get some progress done and then I doubt myself. My art is coming along great though!" She says showing Abie some of the newer drawings
"That's good" They say to her holding the binder on the left side of their body.
"Shockwave you can keep the glasses. This way you will be able to see the magic in an area when you need to." Abie says to the man. "Would it not be better if we made something more fitting for his mask?" Irena asks Abie who seems to be considering it "You made the glasses Irena so if you think that be better and he agrees you can make them for him."

A voice comes from the walls "Would Evalin Justine of Druidic Class Level 1 A please report back to your class located in the field outside of the Western Hall and report to Mrs. Yiva. I repeat would Evalin Justine of Druidic Class Level 1 A please report back to class and report to Mrs. Yiva thank you and have a good school day"

 

"Are you certain?" Shockwave asked, staring at the glasses. "I could easily create or modify these myself with some time and with a better understanding of how things work. I can adjust my ocular sensors to look for traces of the 'aura' or the materials."

 

"Alright hold on a minute then I need to to grab some things," Irena says as she walks off into another room from where the group is they can see more books and a bunch of draws with labels on the front of them. She opens a draw a bit out of sight of the group there she grabs a large folder filled with papers. She also walks to another draw and grabs out some materials including a long crystal. She then makes her way back to the group. She walks over to a bookshelf and presses her hand on the side of it, the wood glows a bit as it shifts shape into a table the books that were on it are now tucked away in draws that formed on the underside of the table. She places down the materials and grabs two chairs for her and Shockwave.
"Okay I will show you how they work," Irena says to him

Esca is showing her drawings to Abie. "This one was done at the Tavern I met Shockwave and Dessa. He had lifted the booth up, he had done so with the real me on it at first but I had to draw this so I made a programmed image" Esca says to him, Abie smiles amused at this.
"That is quite some strength he has got there," Abie says
"I know right, I was Esca the giant thanks to him," Esca says her eyes glowing.

 

While all of this is going on Dessa is reading through a book, she picked up from a shelf next to her. The book describes how to make mechanical animals, tools, weapons, and other things out of metal. She is reading the chapter on making mechanical tools.

 

"Show me then," Shockwave agrees, sitting down in the chair across from her. "Do I need to have magic to use them?"

 

"No magic necessary though it could help with the shaping of the glasses but not needed. First off the frame of the glasses react to the magic within the area and relay those signals to the lense which the wearer then sees as varying colours and shades. The deeper the colour the more magical aura something has. The frame is made out of" she says taking out this brownish metal, "It's not the most malleable but with some elbow grease, you should be able to get it to shape how you want just beware that the modulus of rupture of Mana Steel is only from 90 to 230 so to much pressure and it will snap." She says explaining the material for the frame. "I wish there was a more flexible material I could use but this gives the best sensory results. Anyway, the lens uses a special kind of glass which is made partially with this crystal here. The crystal changes colours based on mana it touches. So the metal which can sense mana win an area relays that to the crystal within the lens allowing you to see mana in an area" Irena says to him she then opens up the folders and shows Shockwave more detailed versions of what she just said it is filled with maths and formulas. Another page shows how to make the lense of the glasses it involves a bit of intense heat.
"Okay, so Shockwave do you get it so far?" Irena asks him

Esca is playing around with Sargent peppers and Bowie. "Ah, I wish I could have played around like this back then." Esca says "I can't let my students play all the time they need to learn" Abie says to her

 

"Yes, I believe so." Shockwave replied with a grin, gripping the temples of the glasses and adjusting them so that they wrapped around his face and pressed against the side of his head. "There, I think they fit."

He turned to look at Dessa. "How do I look?"

 

"Well if you have any questions you can always send a message over to me. Ah, right you need a way to do that. Gi..ve meee a see...c..on....d" she says as she twirls around and prances back to the other room. She opens up a draw and takes out a tiny little item that looks like it would fit into an ear with a piece sticking out that moves towards a mouth. She presses it against a crystal and it glows a whitish colour then she holds it in her hand and it glows a light amethyst "This is a portable radio communication device. If you have someone's mana signature you can send them a message to their own long-range talker. It can store up to four messages at a time once you listened to it, you have the option to remove it or keep it for later but keep in mind if you keep it, it will still count towards the total storage." She says handing him the device. "Ah, I inputted my mana signature before so you can call me when you need to just put into your right ear and say "Call Irena" or if you have a message which it tells you by a glowing you can say 'listen to messages'. I also put an artificial mana signature on it this is so we can communicate with you. Do keep this on the down-low though it is not a finished product I have much more testing I would like to do and will let you know if there are any changes with the technology" Irena tells him. "Right now only a handful of people with one of these we can't give you the ability to call the others for ethical reasons but Abie here could give you theirs as well"
Abie puts his mana signature into the device it glows for a second with a golden hue. "We may not respond right away but we will get back to any questions or concerns you may have and whatnot," Abie tells Shockwave. "If we take to long have Esca here call us with her sending spell that will get our attention," Abie tells him. "Ah, Dessa feel free to borrow that book if you like. Esca can return it for you latter"

Esca draws Bowie in a pose with peppers on his shoulder in another pose. "Robo heroes"

Foor steps can be heard frantically outside of the room they are not directly beyond its door but they are on the same hallway and others for those who can hear very well. Voices can be heard slightly "Still no sign of her. This is getting concerning go see if we can prep a scrying spell" These are disjointed and all over the place.

 

Dessa looks up from the book she is reading, to the sound of her name. A smile spreads across her face when seeing the glasses of Shockwave. "I think they look good on you Shockwave. With those on you'll be able to see a few spells I have around my cottage when we get back." Dessa frowns at the sound of footsteps and voices in the same hallway they are in. "Not to alarm anyone, but I think something is wrong." She looks over at Abie after saying this.

 

"Yeah I do as well, I am going to check things out," Abie says as they exit the room the door open still they call out to the group "Yo, what's all this ruckus about?" He asks them from the doorway a middle-aged white man in a suit can be seen he is a bit taller than Abie with a messy head of black hair "The girl from before Evalin Justine has gone missing." He tells him "We've been looking across the campus for her and even areas off-campus but we have not found any traces of her...." He tells Abie as he then turns his head and shouts "Any luck with the scrying" he waits for an answer. A younger dark-skinned tanned woman in a white cloak she has long blonde hair that runs passed her butt walks up and shakes her head "No, my scrying spell could not locate her its either she resistant for some reason or isn't on this plane" this causes Jay to frown a bit "either of those answers is a pain to deal with. Okay, call Yiva and her class over to the courtyard we need to figure out what was going on when she went missing. Maybe one of the class saw her I want more details of what happened this time. Ask them all the questions again do not be soft helping this girl out is our priority" Jay says to the woman who nods at her boss's orders and goes to gather the class back at the courtyard.
"She was with her class then suddenly she walks off and seemingly stops existing." Jay says to Abie "I want to find this girl soon I don't want to have to tell her parents bad news" the man says looking down.

Esca and Irena listen to the conversation.
"If I had to wager a guess it be that she was plane shifted to somewhere else," Irena says out loud
"I would agree but we don't know where she could have gone. Trying to find her is going to be a lot of work" Esca says to Irena.

"I would agree," Jay says to the girls able to hear them, "I think that is the most likely case however I do not know if Miss Justine was able to plane shift herself or if someone else did it for her. If its the latter we might be able to get a read of where she went". He then makes some hand signs "Nia have them answer this question 'was she talking to anyone while she was walking?' even just basic mouth movements being visible would be fine to know" Jay sends a message to the woman from before.

Irena's eyes brighten "Shockwave those glasses can see leftover magical auras for up to a day with it getting weaker by the hour. If there was a spell used it would leave a signature you can see if a spell was used in the courtyard where she was last seen" Irena says to him.
"That be a great help," Jay says to him

 

"Plane shifting isn't the smartest thing for a student to be doing by themselves. Even the most advanced Adult could land in the wrong place, if they do not know the area well." Dessa chimes in, when she hears about what is going on. "I also find it odd that a Professor would allow a student to wander off in the middle of class." She says frowning at Abie.

 

"If I had to guess it started with 'I need to use the restroom or something along those lines' so she likely made her way either towards the Western Hall entrance or the Western Class Halls those would be the closest restrooms to where their class was taking place. That would explain why she walked off. But nobody had said anything of that happening" Jay says as he looks at the ceiling of the area right before the room.
"You have them gathered Nia? Good going. Have you learned any more details?' Jay speaks to someone who isn't there. He seems to be focused on the words not heard by anyone else there.

"I doubt she plane-shifted on her own. That class is a beginner's level class. She had help if plane-shifting is the cause" Irena brings up she holds her left hand under her chin.
"The only person in the class who could would be Yiva at least that would be my best guess. The students of the class would be too low of a level." She continues
"To plane shift another person you'd need to be touching them," Esca says to her
"That is true still there are ways to get around requirments of spells" Abie tells her to which she is disappointed at knowing.

 

"If you don't mind me asking another question. But is this the first time a student has gone missing?" Dessa asked the people around her. Also what would be the purpose of taking the child in the first place.
