"I will make sure no one causes either of you harm." Shockwave rumbled, his visor glowing a bright purple. "You just see to the business we have to take care of at this place we're going to and I will take care of the protection."

He rolled his neck on his shoulders and chuckled. "This should be fun!"

 

"Thank you," Esca says to him
"I am a bit excited myself it's gonna feel like I am back in school, augh did I finish my assignments. Can I copy your notes? What is your thesis on?" She says to herself joking about as they head outback. Esca draws the teleportation circle on the ground, upon completion "Alright step inside"

A flash of light then suddenly the three of them are no longer in the back of Dessa’s Cottage instead they are in a large circular white and silver room with lanterns hanging around the perimeter. In front of them are two figures in white cloaks with their hoods back “Welcome Esca and friends” a male voice says, they see that the one speaking is a male with dark red hair and the other a large female with braided brown hair, and tattoos along her face. “I will take them from here to the Western Hall” the male says to the girl “ugh fine whatever standing here is bullshit, go run off Copper” she says annoyed at doing her job. “Follow me” Copper says as he leads the trio outside of the room and into a massive building, when the door shuts it is like it was never there.


They follow Copper for a little bit, the room is massive, its borders are decorated in white and silver with suits of armors present at several points. All around them as they walk they can see the staff walking around talking and occasionally they see a spell cast such as a woman using one to pick up some papers she made someone drop by accident. It is busy with life and activity.

“Professor Wilts told me you will be coming; he is waiting for you just ahead” Copper tells them as he leads them along. They reach a large desk and at it sits an older woman. “Alright please sign-in” she says in a gruff voice. Esca signs her name down and then pours a bit of her mana into it and suddenly it glows a light blue. “Entrance accepted” the woman says shooing the party off, as they move out following Copper, they hear a male’s voice call out. “Esca! I see you’ve arrived” there walking towards them is a masculine yet strangely feminine figure in a business casual suit that is brown and tan with two coattails the right one a bit longer than the left, the suit has beakers and other objects lined up along it. Their long blond hair tied back into a ponytail with some greys beginning to develop. Behind them is a large figure made of iron, steel, tin, copper, and other metals in the shape of a hulking man. It moves following the blonde-haired figure. “Abie Wilts a pleasure,” they say introducing themselves to Dessa and Shockwave. “Who is that?” Esca asks him “Ah this is Bowie! He was something I was working on for some time. A brand-new construct. My most advanced yet.” They say seeming proud of themselves. “So what brings you here Esca. You haven’t talked much to anyone since you left the academy here” They say to her. “Sorry about that, but yes I want to know if it is possible to put one’s magic soul into figure without one.” Esca asks him. “Well of course it is artificers do it all the time. Bowie here has a part of my soul in him” He explains. Esca shakes her head. “I know that much; I did pass the written portions of your class it was just the practical parts I was miserable at. What I want to know is it possible to channel a mana source or a magic soul through a person without one but also has a conscious and lives” Esca asks him which takes the professor by surprise. “That should be possible. Can’t say I ever got to try it seeing as I have never met such a person” Abie says looking over Shockwave and Dessa thinking for a moment.

 

"Hello, and nice you meet you as well." Dessa replies to the new people around her. "Our friend Shockwave is the one we want to know, if it's possible for him to have magic. He comes from another planet, and they don't have magic there." She tells Abie a little more about their problem.

 

"Where are we going now?" Shockwave asks, stepping inside the circle and then blinking when they are somewhere else. "That was certainly very interesting."

He waves when they discuss and introduce him. "I am Shockwave of the planet Cybertron, I'm not in my true form. This seems to help make it easier for people to see me."

 

Abie looks at Shockwave their face possesses a slight smile has their eyes do a once over of the extraterrestrial. "You've met an alien Esca? Where did you meet him?" Abie asks her as continues to examine the man with his eyes.
"The Tavern, I wasn't sure if he would be so open about that information so quickly with you. I wanted to leave that up to him" Esca says to her old professor.
"Right I think I should go to the Taverns in the city here more often then hahaha. I jest I try to avoid places that would get met to start drinking again." Their laugh is strong and hearty, Bowie behind them mimics their laugh a strong metallic laugh can be heard.
"Shockwave, back in my study I have a pair of glasses that can see the flow of magic in an area, one doesn't even need to turn it on with putting their own magic into it. I want you to watch what I am doing with them so you can better understand what is going on." Abie tells Shockwave. "I will not proceed with any actions unless you are comfortable, so if you will please you three follow me to my study. And Copper thank you for your help you may return to your post" Abie says to the three and then to Copper they each pay their respects to each other "Thank you, Professor Wilts, and thank you Esca, Shockwave and Dessa I will be off" he says as he turns back to the Teleportation entrance, when he gets to where they came from he draws with his finger a symbol and the door appears and opens up, he then walks back in before the door shuts again the dim light of the lanterns can be seen for a short moment before the door vanishes again.

 

"I have no reason to hide where I am from," Shockwave mumbles, examining a metal finger where a nail would normally be, a habit he picked up. "If I would have thought it cause for concern about the revealing of my identity, I would have held it secret from you. I do not fear anything from this planet at this point in time and thus I do not concern myself with concealing it. I thank you for the thought to protect my identity though."

He shrugs and rolls his shoulders. "Esca, Dessa, are you ready to begin?"

 

"If you're sure about all of this, then we can start when everyone is ready." Dessa replies to Shockwave. How long will all of this take and will it be dangerous for someone not from this planet? She turned to address this to Abie.

 

"Of course I am ready! I am the one who brought this up here, and you welcome." Esca says to Shockwave. Abie looks at them and smiles.
"Seems you three will have a good friendship, and Dessa it shouldn't take to long the process normally takes but a few seconds that said this is different from what I am used to due to not being able to use it on people from different planets a lot well ever really. That is why I want Shockwave to watch it first so he has a better idea of what will be going on I do not want him to feel unsafe" Abie tells them and explains to Dessa what he is thinking.
"Well if you are all ready and willing I will lead us to my study its a short walk from here across the court."

 

"I am ready." Shockwave nods. "Whenever you are ready, lead on!"

 

"Alright I'm ready and interested in knowing if this will work or not." Dessa motions for Abie to lead the way to his study.

 

"Very well please follow me" Abie says as they lead them towards his study. When they reach the exit of the Western Hall they are met with two giant glass doors, as they step to close a pattern in the shape of a butterfly begins to glow in white, blue, and silver light. "That s just for show it has nothing to do with the door opening," Esca says to Dessa and Shockwave they walk out of the room and into a large open field of grass and hills, various plants are scattered throughout the field making it bright with colour. The party makes their way across the field nearby they see a woman with students sitting down on the grass in front of her she has vines growing around her left arm and is talking about something though it is hard to make out from this distance, one of the students stands up a young elven girl with long silver hair she seems to be asking for help and suddenly vines come across her arm but they are frail and brittle breaking almost as soon as they began. "That is a Druidic class, the teacher was new when I was in school Yiva is very motherly," Esca says to them as seeing that was a rush of memories for her. They make their way across the massive field and come across a much less fancy looking building than before. Abie push opens the door and holds it for the others letting them in.

Inside they see a similar butterfly pattern on the ground, the walls are a white colour seeming having aged a bit to the left is a large board with many names written on it and above that, it reads "Directory" Abie Wilts name is written on it and is glowing White. Abie holds up their finger to it and it changes from White to Blue. "Just to let the students know I am back in my study," they say as they make their way to their study room. Upon walking in it becomes much larger than it would seem it should be from the outside. Books and gadgets litter the study and it is in general a mess with a strange smell of many flavours. A younger woman is in the room at a desk with papers around her on them are blueprints of a device littered around it and in the centre is a small model version of it being studied by her. "Ahem" Abie makes a sound as if clearing their throat. She heard this turns around to greet them. "You seem to be doing well Irena" Abie says to her. "Yes Professor I have made some good progress on its flight ability," she says showing Abie a design she is testing "Ah very good but what if you were to move its bending joint in the wing up towards here this way it can reach faster speeds." They suggest to her "I had thought about that but with shorter wings, it will be easier for it to manoeuvre." She says to them which they nod. Before an "Ahem" from Esca brings Abie back to the task at hand. "Sorry sorry, everyone, this is Irena, Irena this is Esca, Dessa, and Shockwave" Irena politely greets each of them. Abie goes to get the glasses a few minutes later they come back with them and hands them to Shockwave "please put them on. When on you will be able to see the magic around the area and when I begin to begin you will see the magic flow from my core into the figure." Abie tells Shockwave showing him a small metal figure.

 

"Nice meeting you Irena." Dessa smiles and gives a nod of greeting. She moves to a corner in the room so she can watch things, and be out of the way. "Good luck Shockwave."

 

"Right," Shockwave begins, following the group into the indicated room and lifting the glasses and putting them on. "Got it, I'm ready."

He turns and begins looking around, looking at the newly revealed magic in the air. "Interesting."

 

The room is filled with magical items and wards. The room has a blueish colour to it in many places. Abie puts their right index on the back of the figure and through his body, a translucent golden stream travels quickly through their body into the figure, in that instance a small sphere of golden mana appears in the core of the figure, its eyes glow a whitish gold and then stands up. "This is Sargent Peppers," Abie says to them. "Now as you can see using my mana I am able to awaken a construct such as Sargent Peppers here. The mana put within can be used to activate spells through the construct for example" Abie says cutting their wrist. "Peppers if you will cure wounds please," Abie says as the tiny construct puts its even smaller hands over the cut, and from its hands comes to a translucent gold stream of mana covering the wound, and then the wound is gone.
"The difference here with you Shockwave versus Sargent Peppers is that you are living so the flow of mana through your body will be on your own conscious versus programming. With that, it will be on you to move the mana through your body into your fingers and have it release through it. Think of it like sending an electrical signal to your finger to move it but instead of moving it you are releasing that energy through it." Abie explains to him "Now it is up to you, if you are willing I am going to put a small amount of my mana within you like I had Sgt. Peppers. Then you will try to move that mana into your hands and release it through into this" they say holding a rod "when a person fills it with magic it will glow" they tell him.

Esca had joined Dessa "What are your thoughts on all of this Dessa?" Esca asks her as she watches what is going on.

Irena is also watching she had put aside her work for now as this piques her interest she takes notes of what is being said and begins to theorize ideas about what is up. She fixes her glasses up as it begins to slide down her nose.

 

"Seems like a 50% chance of it working and a 50% of it not working. However with all these wards in here, if rogue magic even a slight amount of it hits. Everyone and everything in this room could be severely wounded or damaged." She replies to Esca, while keeping a sharp eye on everything Shockwave does. "I'm not trying to be negative, but that is the reality of someone from another planet trying to use magic they were not born with."
