Common Town Roles

• Townie - A townie also called Vanilla Townie is a player who has no power actions and only has the ability to vote.
• Cop - The Cop has the ability to investigate players in the Night Phase and find their alignments. The results given to the cop are Innocent for Pro-Town alignment, Guilty for Anti-town alignment, Neutral for neutral alignment and No Result if they are role blocked.
• Doctor - The Doctor is a role that targets a player at Night to protect that player from a single kill made during that Night.
• Vigilante - A Vigilante is a Town player who can shoot and kill a player at Night.
• Jailkeeper - A Jailkeeper's Night Action is one that protects its target from kills, but also Roleblocks its target. This role is a combination of a Doctor and a Roleblocker.

Common Mafia Roles

• Goon - A Goon is a member of the Mafia with no special abilities. They however have access to the Mafia factional kill.
• Godfather - A Godfather is a role that investigates as Innocent (or some other favorable result) to Cops, regardless of their Anti-Town alignment.
• Roleblocker - A Roleblocker chooses one player per Night to block from performing his or her night action. The target's night action will not be performed that is, the Roleblocker blocks the target's power from working.

Common Third Party Roles

• Serial Killer - A Serial Killer is a player whose goal is to be the last player alive. They are aligned with themselves (meaning they have no allies) and have a factional kill at Night like the Mafia.
• Survivor- A Survivor is a lone player whose goal is to live until any other faction achieves their Win Condition and the game ends. Alternatively, a Survivor may only be required to stay alive till a particular Day or Night Phase to win. If the Survivor dies, it loses.

 

★Examples to clarify Alignment and Faction Tags

In this section, a few Role PM's will be given to clarify what factional tag and alignment a player gets.

A Town Factional Tag with Pro-Town Alignment Role PM

Town Cop (open) Town Cop (close)

Welcome, [Player Name], you are a Town Cop.

Abilities:
Each night phase, you may investigate one player in the game by PM'ing the mod. You will get results back in the form of Innocent/Guilty/Neutral.

Win condition:
You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.

• You have a Pro-Town Alignment.
• You have a [Town] Factional tag.

A Mafia Factional Tag with Anti-Town Alignment Role PM

Mafia Goon (open) Mafia Goon (close)

Welcome, [Player Name]. You are a Mafia Goon.

Abilities:

• You may use your factional nightkill to kill a player every Night Phase.
• You have a mafia lair [Quicktopic Link] where you can communicate with your teammates.

Your teammates are [Player Name] and [Player Name].

Win condition:
You win when all members of the town have been eliminated or when your mafia team has a clear majority in the game.

• You have an Anti-Town Alignment.
• You have a [Mafia] Factional Tag.

A Third Party Factional Tag with Pro-Town Alignment Role PM

Third Party Vigilante (open) Third Party Vigilante (close)

Welcome, [Player Name], you are a Third Party Vigilante.

Abilities:
Each night phase, you can kill one player.

Win condition:
You get a Joint Win with the Town when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.

• You have a Pro-Town Alignment.
• You have a [Third Party] Factional Tag.

A Third Party Factional Tag with Anti-Town Alignment Role PM

Third Party Serial Killer (open) Third Party Serial Killer (close)

Welcome, [Player Name], you are a Third Party Serial Killer.

Abilities:

• Each night phase, you can kill one player.
• You have one bulletproof vest which can save you from one killing action.

Win condition:
You win when you are the last man standing. Alternatively you will also win if all players are dead by the end of the game.

• You have a Anti-Town Alignment.
• You have a [Third Party] Factional Tag.

An Independent Factional Tag with Neutral Alignment Role PM

Independent Doctor Survivor (open) Independent Doctor Survivor (close)

Welcome, [Player Name], you are an Independent Doctor Survivor.

Abilities:

• You can save one player during every Even Night Phase.
• You cannot use your save ability in Odd Night Phases.

Win condition:
You win when you survive till the end of the game.

• You have a Neutral Alignment.
• You have an [Independent] Factional Tag.

 

★Factional Tags

All factions and players can be given a tag by Hosts. There are four tags in a Mafia Game

[Town] - A faction gets the Town tag when
→Must be in majority
→Must be uninformed
→Must have a Pro-Town alignment

[Mafia] - A faction gets the Mafia tag when
→Must be in minority
→Must be informed
→Must have a private chatroom
→Must have a factional kill
→Must have an Anti-Town alignment

[Third Party] - A faction gets the Third Party tag when
→Must be in minority
→Can follow the informed logic or not
→Can have either Pro-Town or Anti-Town alignment

[Independent] - A faction gets the Independent tag when
→Must be in minority
→Can follow the informed logic or not
→Must have Neutral alignment

Please keep in mind that these tag distinctions are not absolute.
