    Well, rip.

    For those of you that are saying that the repeal of net neutrality won't affect the rest of the world, consider this:

    The things that are most worrying about this, is that while there are laws in other countries that keep net neutrality, many of the websites and services we use today are located in the U.S, ISP's would absolutely start extorting them for more money, they in turn will have to charge more across the globe to cover the money being shaked out of them by U.S ISP's.

    Huge services like Steam for example, could be targeted for its profitable service and bandwidth.

    This is a big deal for the rest of the world, not just the U.S.

    But, what's next?

    1. Congress can still overturn the vote with a majority.
    2. The repeal for net neutrality can still go to court and be stopped there.
    3. States can still implement safeguards, states such as Washington and California have already started doing so.

    Anyways, just thought that I'd make a thread on this, we pay to use providers, not to use the internet, and the same goes business wise, the providers are a business, while the internet isn't.

    I saw this on a tumblr post ages ago:
    So think of target or a grocery store or some place with many rows

    You have to pay to get in then every row you look at even if you don't buy anything

    Not having to do that a freedom of access to info that's net neutrality. And the impact of America losing that will impact the world.

    Heard about that. Seems fucked up. It would drastically affect our way of using the internet and most probably our lives. Crossing my fingers that the repeal doesn't happen.

    I think anyone who advocates for NN abolishment is retarded and doesn't understand the potential for endangered internet use, which ISP's will probably turn into a reality. Hopefully the repeals are blocked.
