Double seven was real fun especially because of Takuma. I personally love it when Miyuki gets mad on behalf of Tatsuya. Not to mention,Tatsuya's ripostes to Takuma's objections towards Tatsuya's decision were cool and the way he beat Tomitsuka afterwards was badass as well. The other new addition Minami, didn't have much to do. I feel that it would have been better if Minami was a bit proactive and not like a maid robot. We already have Tatsuya as the emotionless guy.

 

I have mixed feelings about the saegusa twins

 

The Saegusa twins! I almost forgot about them. Well, I honestly don't like how childish they can be. Izumi was fine until she fell in some kind of obsessive love with Miyuki. Kasumi showed her mature side when she talked to Takuma after he had runaway from practice room #3. All in all they are fine but didn't meet my expectations. I wanted them to be a little more mysterious. The kind of feeling Fumiya and Ayako give.

 

I'm still kind of confused about why Kasumi always has an attitude when it comes to Tatsuya, is she just jealous of his and Mayumi's relationship or is it something else? Izumi isn't to bad, she's the first yuri we've had in the series thus far lml and she actually tells her sister off if she's rude to Tats.

The fight at the end of of the volume was pretty interesting as they introduced a full counter to Mist Dipersion, forcing Tatsuya to slowly weaken his barrier little by little till he could demolish it with his own gram demolition.

 

I found that side of Kasumi annoying as well. The thing that was even worse was that Miyuki didn't get angry at her like she typically does when someone is rude to Tatsuya. Well the last fight like I said was amazing because it showed that even Gram Demolition (contact type ) can't do shit against Onii-sama.

 

I think the novel described her attitude as more of irritation and jealousy and the fact that is was unlikely for her to fall for Tatsuya, made Miyuki okay with it, plus she also sympathies with her jealousy of Tatsuya having a close relationship with Mayumi as Miyuki is the same way when Tatsuya gets close to other girls.

Well he had to work his way through contact type gram demolition armor, but now he can one shot it with brayon lance.

 

Ya I know why Miyuki was ok with it.I just don't like it ! >.< I don't know what the Brayon Lance is. Looking forward to it. Do you think Tomitsuka could have won if he had not given his contact-type gram demolition a structure ?

 

Brayon Lance is a new OP magic system Tatsuya came up with after battling with Lina, I wont go into specifics but it can supposedly one shot both phalanx and gram demolition armor. Its brought up in vol 14 and 15, then shown in 16, but we don't truely know what its completely capable of yet. Anyways that's a discussion for later volumes.

Back on topic, another scene I particularly enjoyed was when Tatsuya invaded that actresses hotel room and blackmailed her just for her to leave first high alone.

 

Haha yes! Loved how her charms didn't work on him either ! I didn't like Maki from the start because I don't like two-faced bitches. Still she got lucky because if Tatsuya had not come to blackmail her and apparently killed the ppl who had come to kill her, she would have died.

 

I didn't thing she was all that bad as she was truely trying to help the status of magicians( even though she was also using it for her own agenda as well) that's why Tatsuya didn't try to stop her plan.

 

Like I said, I didn't like her because she was a two-faced to the core. She was even seducing Takuma! If it was not for her Takuma might have joined the Student Council and learned to respect some people in it. But then again if that were the case we wouldn't have witnessed that amazing duel between Tatsuya and Tomitsuka. The best thing about this was her reaction to Tatsuya's bold actions. "Who the devil are you!?" I love that kinda thing ! ><

 

Yeah the duel between Tatsuya and Tomitsuka was pretty sweet, easily one of the best moments in the volume.

I also liked how first high trolled that humanist congressmen with thermo -nuclear reactor demonstration.

 

Haha yup that politician had to just bounce after being soundly beaten by Taurus Silver. My nerd friend took a fancy to this LN as he read the description of the stellar furnace and I think he might just start reading it !

 

Mahouka is very heavily filled with a lot of science and tech talk, so he should enjoy it.

I liked how this volume really set off the humanist agenda in the story. I mean it became it was a part of the story early on, but just not a direct conflict for Tatsuya and others to deal with until this volume.
