Dragon Ball Super General Discussion

Well that's Frieza for ya. I was skeptical at the decision of bringing him back again, but now I see why they did. He really makes things more interesting.

 

I don't think he would have done that exactly. He only did that when he was evil lol.

 

I guess, but eh that would get boring after awhile.

 

Where my dragon ball super 1 hour special episode at tho.

 

God damn it i was looking forward to seeing the jiren goku fight this week.

 

Tbh, this Tournament arc is exactly what you shouldn't do in a Tournament arc. Put under pressure to introduce a lot of characters, the designers made most of them look uninteresting or downright ridiculous, the fights were unimaginative, I can't take the Sayians being pushed around so much seriously. Most of these characters don't have any reason to fight other than "our universe will get destroyed" which is a good an interesting thematic but it (along with the perspective of gods goes largely unexplored) and so the fights don't feel as intense or personal.

The fact that it's also more of a battle royale, free-for-all fight rather than taking turns in a one on one fight along with the fact that it's been so many episodes in just one single dull looking arena makes it all the more boring too watch. At this point Frieza is the only thing that keeps the show interesting. Everything from his coming back to him betraying Frost was done so well and it works because he's someone we've come to know and care about. Other fighters? Hardly. And the whole thing about how they tried to bait us with Roshi's death (which was itself completely plastic)? Please, like anyone was dumb enough to fall for that.

My rating for the anime so far:

First arc with Beerus - 8/10 (original, fresh, comical and overall well done aside from the overlong final fight)
Ressurection of F - 5/10 (rushed, bad Gohan, too simple: "frieza gets revived, comes to earth and is beaten without much trouble)
Universe Six - 7/10 (good dynamic between Champa and Beerus, also cool to see Vegeta and Goku training together, Super dragon balls introduced and overall a better tournament with more interesting characters)
Zamasu arc - 3/10 (worst arc of DBS, started off amazing but degraded to utter trash with asspulls and nonsensical power levels)
Now this - ?/10 (so far bland and uninteresting and the high stakes of the universes being viped out seem to be taken far too lightly)

 

My only issue with Dragon Ball Super this shit needs to stop being a Goku/Vegeta show. Have Gohan, Goten and Trunks do something useful for once. Another thing that bothers me about Super is how stupid Goku is, like really dude.....

 

Oh definitely. In DBZ Goku wasn't even around that much and he wouldn't even participate in some fights. Here its just the other guys stalling until Goku arrives.

This is made even worse when Goku doesn't take anything seriously 90% of the times.

 

Goten and Trunks suck, so no thanks.

 

LUL, okay um what spotlight can a lil kids get in any of the super arcs none AT all, they won't even give a **** if the universe gets donezo look at the fusion saga, they IGNORED THAT BUU WAS A LITERAL THREAT till he became Super Buu.

um you do realize that Super is for Goku more so then others right or what was the point of introducing SS God, and SSB like off the bat like 2 MOVIES THAT ARE CANON that had Goku in the spotlight, no one complained like smh.

P.S sorry if I came out rude, wasn't my intention but y'all posts reminded me of someone who says that ToP isnt happening all at once like each event is happening in tandem with another and claims other animes can do real time events much better and get in done in 10 or less episodes if it's a Tourney/Battle Royale.
