Synopsis

Adventuring knight Laios Touden leads a small party through a seemingly endless dungeon, a subterranean maze full of dangerous monsters and precarious traps. Through the use of advanced magic, an explorer can sometimes be resurrected, allowing them to learn from past mistakes and give traversing the dungeon another go. However, when a powerful dragon eats Falin, Laios' spellcasting sister, she sends her brother and his companions back to the beginning to save them from permanent ends.

Though strapped for cash and equipment, Laios resolves to fight his way through the dungeon and rescue Falin before she can be digested by the dragon. Despite some of Laios' allies abandoning him, two remain by his side: elven mage Marcille Donato and halfling locksmith Chilchuck Tims. Due to their lack of funds, the party faces the daunting prospect of starving before being able to complete their quest. However, they find salvation in Senshi, a dwarven warrior with a penchant for cooking and safely eating defeated monsters.

With Senshi's culinary expertise, Laios and his companions struggle through the dungeon while learning about gourmet dining—and each other—along the way.

Episode 1 was great. I read the manga forever ago, many years. It starts out with Laios party fighting a red dragon while they're exhausted and starving. Falin, Laios' sister pushing him out of the way and teleports the rest of the group comprising of Marcille and Chilchuck back to the top while she was devoured. The group vows to get back and slay the dragon to save her before she's digested. They just have a problem... they're broke and starving. Queue the idea to eat things from the dungeon. As luck would have it, they have run into Senshi who has a decade of experience with cooking dungeon food. Things are off in a good way!

 

Episode 2 was good. The adventure continues. First up they took on a Basilisk helping out some newbies too. They had a good meal out of it, apparently tasting like chicken. They also got some resources to continue on. They came across mandrakes a little later on and Senshi has a really efficient way of harvesting them compared to Marcille's "correct" but long way. Her's produced better end results but it was more time consuming/difficult. Further on in the dungeon there was some slight conflict with Senshi and Chilcuck due to Senshi ignoring warnings about where to step to not trigger traps. In the end they ironed things out after using the traps to deep-fry some food.

 

Episode 3 was good. Lol at Laios having some fantasy of eating living armor. Turns out mollusks were inside controlling it and it wasn't magic. Laios lived out his fantasy eating "living armor"

 

Episode 4 was good. They got some nice fresh vegetables thanks to Senshi using golems to grow and harvest them. After that they god held hostage by Orcs. Marcille and the leader butted heads pretty strongly, but thanks to the Orc child, things worked out ok and they learnt where the dragon is.

 

Episode 5 was good. Started out with some dead adventurers. Turns out there are bugs that look like real treasure lol. After making a meal out of it, Senshi tossed the real treasure. Next up, they had a run in with ghosts which was rough. Falin was the main mage of the group and one that used to deal with ghosts. Senshi made some random mix of holy water which was very effective. It turned into sorbet.

 

Episode 6 was good. The group is short on food and needs to rest. They stumbled upon living paintings. Laios went in and saw a bit and figured out you couldn't take the food out of the painting and was able to eat within one. Although when he was pulled out, he was still hungry, so it wasn't a good way to get food. The group ended up camping out the night with Chilchuck not telling them about a mimic considering he has lots of bad experience with them. Insisting to fetch water alone, he ended up in a real bad spot with a mimic. After getting out of it he finally revealed his age of 28 turning 29. They also ended up eating the mimic.

 

Episode 7 was good. So, the adventurers that "died" and lost the "treasure" were revived and went on the chance to find our group. Senshi "befriended" a kelpie (sea horse) type monster. When he tried to cross the water on her back, she tried to kill him. Naturally, she died. The adventurer's from earlier also somehow beat them to that floor. Strange. Senshi ended up getting cleaned and allowed Marcille to cast her spell on him allowing them all to walk on water. They were attacked by a Kracken. While that meat wasn't good, the parasite within was.

 

Episode 8 was good. We got a flashback backstory of Marcille and Falin's budding friendship. They both went to the same magic institution and ended up becoming friends. Falin was originally a loner and Marcille was kind of popular because of her talent. They had an encounter with an Undine which almost killed Marcille. Her blood was replenished thanks to the liver of the kelpie.

 

Episode 9 was good. The old party member Namari that split off met up with the group with her new employers. They took one one monster that was like a tree and then managed to defeat the undine. They made a meal out of it which replenished Marcille's mana allowing her to continue.

 

Episode 10 was good. The group encountered a giant frog and with Chilchuck's thinking of using its own skin like gloves, they were able to defeat it and move onto the next floor. Seems like the encounter with the dragon will be next episode. Some Orcs were toasted by it.

 

Episode 11 was good. They managed to defeat the dragon! Just barely. It cost Laios half a leg, but once it was dead, Marcille was able to reattach it. In the past, Falin had also saved him when they were kids from a ghost. Falin is dead with them finding her skill and weapon.

 

Episode 12 was good. Marcille dabbles in dark magic and had a spell to use to try and revive Falin. They reassembled her skeleton and Marcille used her spell to great success! The group then made a feast from the dragon. A dark elf has stumbled upon the remnants of Marcille's spell and the dead dragon.

 

Episode 13 was good and confusing. So the "mad sorcerer" of the dungeon is the dark elf, which is the one from those living paintings. Also, he turned or seemingly was going to turn Falin into a dragon? How confusing. He almost took out Marcille, Laios, Senshi and Chilchuck who ended up running into the sister of the leader of the orcs. The current plan is to go back to the surface before coming back.

 

Episode 14 was great. We switched back to the party that had previously died. They died again and were revived by the group Namari is with. They were then put in illusion magic by the previous people that revived them, seeking to make a quick buck. After countering the illusion magic, they took them out. Kabru was quick to somehow put together who was in the current party and is still seeking them. They were attacked yet again by a sea serpent and subsequently saved by Shuro's party and they're teaming up. Seems he's in love with Falin and seeking to find her.
