Red Sprite - even though it was very promising - was cancelled simply because the author refused to make the protagonist more like Goku & Luffy and because he didn't want to follow a formula (he wanted to do his own thing).

I only watched the first one a couple of weeks ago. I haven't even watched the second one yet. It's on Netflix. I'll watch it this week after I get the internet back in my house.
