This is me waking up:
1. Wakes up
2. Goes back to sleep for another fifteen minutes
3. Half wakes up
4. Goes back to full sleep for another fifteen minutes
5. Wakes up fully with eyes partially closed and feeling like I was run over

Tartakovsky can make and work with various animation styles. He's worked on the DCAU (Batman, Justice League, Batman Beyond), Powerpuff Girls (the original good one and not the shitty new one), Hotel Transylvania, SymBionic Titan.

For a mature TMNT series, I feel DCAU animation style (specifically of Batman Beyond) would be best. Or may be the Tremblay bros could have a go at it and make it in the style of SWAT Kats. That could work well.

 

Wait, he was in the DCAU too? Huh, never knew. Yeah that'd be a great animation for TMNT, the style suits the action quite well.

 

I was also surprised when I learnt this.

And Tartakovsky can do dark and mature quite well without too much angst.

 

Raphael without angst would be hard to do, considering a few versions of him are plain out angry rebel teenager, or switch sides temporarily to chaotic neutral.
