    Enshittification for cash grab and surveilance.

    Honestly, I need to find alternatives to the fukking ERPs I currently use. If it were not for the fact that they are Windows exclusive, I would have switched my work systems to Ubuntu or Linux Mint long ago. A cousin recommended Mac. I will never go Apple, though. Mac OS is just windows with a different coat of paint.

    And the only reason my personal laptop has Windows still is because of gaming. Fukk.

    Enterprise Resource Planning

    We use Tally and Winman for accounting and Income Tax return filing respectively. They both require Windows XP SP3 or above to work.

    @Gobb

    I have been using Vivaldi for work for the past couple of hours. They seem to have made improvements all around, and also solved the GPU rasterization issue which caused it to crash when playing videos. It is also just much faster and more responsive in general.

    Does Windows 10 LTSC have any of this shit it it? It has support until 2032 iirc and it's meant to be for enterprise/business which usually means all ad related shit is removed, presumably that would apply to edge too, but I might be wrong.

    Oh, that's good to hear!

    It actually does. You can uninstall co-pilot completely in Windows 10 Enterprise, as far as I know. However, it still comes bundled with MS Edge, a browser which you can't uninstall or even just disable (at least not without some great difficulty). You can, at best, disable co-pilot in MS Edge on Windows 10 Enterprise. I think...

    Yeah. Now, if they make the ad blocker on the mobile version as good as Brave's; or bring in extension support (which they say "is on the radar" for an upcoming update); then I might consider using Vivaldi on my phone again. I actually consider it to be quite good on mobile; even better than Brave as a whole package; it even does better than Brave on battery life and browsing speeds. Literally the only issue is that the ad-blocker on the mobile version is not as good as on the desktop counterpart or Brave's in-built one. The tracker blocker is actually almost as good as on Brave's, but not the ad-blocker.

    Yeah ok. Also disabling all of the AI features in edge, I did see a reduction in the processes so idk. It doesn't seem to hard to remove edge in enterprise, but I guess trusting it is another story lmao https://rentry.org/uninstalledge

    It sounds like they're slowly closing the gap which is great to hear. I suppose you could always block ads at the network level, but it depends if it's viable, obviously only really works for a home network, I don't think you could really with just hot spotting a phone. Also, I never know if blocking ads in that nature actually just kills some website functionality or not. Haven't looked overy deep into it.

    Cybershack AU has an article on how to disable Edge in most Windows versions. I should check it out some time.

    Blocking ads will not break a website. However, blocking certain trackers or using an annoyance filter definitely will. This is most noticeable on youtube. If you enable Brave's youtube annoyance filter or Vivaldi's Fanboy annoyance list, it will break youtube and the site won't work properly.

    Yeah, fair. Usually it ends up as a power shell command or registry edit, etc.

    I didn't mean literally break, but play up with their adblocking detection, giving you a worse experience. Or, in youtube's case "detecting you're using adblock and you have to disable it". I think we're kind of thinking of the same thing.

    Lol, kind of funny.

    I have never gotten a warning to disable adblock on youtube to date. However, there are some popular websites where you do get such a warning. Notebookcheck, for example.

    I don't ususally, had it a few times when they were warring with ublock, but usually is fine. But I know different adblockers have different results
