From one the most iconic villain to a literal meme material

My dislike from Naruto as a series stems from the fact it did not just become bad it started destroying things that were great about it in first place. I was okay with even that but then Boruto literally started bulldozing everything enjoyable about Naruto.

 

Well luckily the orochimaru gags were filler so they don't matter but yea bulldozing is the correct term lmao

 

Honestly when looking at Boruto as a sequel it is impossible to take it seriously. Like ok you're gonna make a movie which turned out fine as it respected the ogs and gave a nice growth to the new kid, that's all fine and dandy the story is wrapped up now and it was a final good send-off for the franchise.

Then they retcon the ending of the movie as they decide to instead milk it by making it its own series and they give it to a noob artist and a writer not well versed in narutoverse and have them hack together a story that makes no sense and is driven by asspulls from the start (karma and shit when there was never such a thing mentioned with Kaguya) all while they leave SP to make hundreds of episodes of filler before they even begin covering the events after Boruto the movie.

So what you get is a manga with a shit story, shit art and an adaptation that is nothing but shitty fillers 99% of the time. Then to put the icing on the cake Kishi comes back as a writer which is touted as some sort of return to form for the story when in reality the only reason he came back was because his other manga that he actually cared about writing failed miserably so he took up boruto as his side bitch until he comes up with something better (if he ever decides to try being creative again).

Literally nothing about this sequel feels genuine or good. It is clearly a last minute hackneyed attempt to drag out what could've been a decent epilogue movie.

 

And I genuinely do consider the boruto movie to be a good sendoff for the franchise

 

I'm saying this all as someone who still genuinely loves Part 1 and 2 despite the botched up war arc which too has some of the best moments in the series. Naruto for me is still a 7/10 series AT WORST so when I'm being this critical about the sequel you know they fucked up
