Discussion Chainsawman

Episode 1 for me was interesting. The backstory of Denji is pretty unique, especially as far as Shounen go. So his father racked up a massive debt with the Yakuza and killed himself. Denji as a kid was stuck paying stupid amounts. He made friends with the devil Pouchita. He's sold an eye, kidney, testicle and I might've missed some other stuff, along with killing devils for money amongst other things. His dreams are pretty simple to go on a date with a girl and just be able to eat good.

He was betrayed by the Yakuza as they made a pact with the zombie devil and became zombies. Denji died and due to a new contract with Puchita was "born again". Now he can turn into that chainsaw man devil, I guess. Makima is a government worker and promised him basics to live as a human and he's happy with that.

Man though, the animation and CG looked pretty shit during hte action sequences. Idk how to explain it just looked "off".

 

Episode 2 was alright. Denji is blatantly being used but ok with it. Denji had fun making toast. Power is a nutjob. Now Denji just wants to touch some breasts. The anime has some many weirdly focused shots on like random shit like hands or feet or objects someone is holding or just being out of focus of the important thing. Some stuff feels overanimated and there are weird "camera" views too, a long with like it moving around being unfocused. These things just make it feel weird.

 

Did you find it kind of "weird" to watch? Like a lot of scenes randomly focusing on irrelevant shit like their hands or feet or like the character in partial focus, idk how to explain it?

 

I mean I guess the director got what they wanted because it's not like normal anime. But I would say that's for the worst.

Well first ep was interesting. I didn't much care for the second. Second was like 6/10 and I don't rate 1-5.

Episode 3 was ok. So Power tricked Denji for a deal to get her cat back. But the Bat devil ended up just eating the cat and Power too. Denji turned into the Chainsaw devil and made short work of the devil. I don't get how they got to town from the middle of nowhere lol. Fight scene was kinda meh.
