If they did only a select few had taken part in them maybe Kyoraku and another captain or so with the other captain(s) taking the role the VC were in this chapter. Since Renji had said he never done this until Yamamoto's which would have to be after Gin and Tosen by several years. Do it because it is necessary but don't make an event out of it. If any VC did take part it be Hisagi, and Matsumoto or Kira. Due to connections.

 

I would figure Shinigami and Souls like humans are creatures of habit so if they have a tradition they are more likely to stick with it because it is comfortable.
It would be interesting to see how soul society had changed in the past 12 years since the TYBW. We know the have Tvs now and we can assume at least some cultural influence is there since Yuyu is the way she is.

 

Which can be kind of exciting to see. Things change over time and seeing that change would be a treat.
Also I am interested in how the relationships with hueco mundo, full bringers and the quincy have developed. Soul Society cannot ignore them, the Arancar at least as far as the leaders should be fairly friendly, Full bringers I think will be mostly seprete just watched. The Quincy are hard to tell since most are dead and the main living members Liltotto and Giselle well their team is currently zombied by Mayuri so that is likely putting a bit of a strain on the relationship there.
