It's definitely different. The story isn't linear by any stretch of the word; you're reading it as a series of diary entries and letters from the past, which are unlocked in a disconnected order and you have to mentally piece it all together yourself. The heroines are old AI programs that help you go through everything and you can only have 1 of them active at a time, and they each show you different parts of the story. There are parts where you have to disable certain functions of the ship or change AI by typing commands into the console, and you can only have so many things enabled at once so it's almost a resource management aspect. It's worth playing, the soundtrack is nice, and its definitely one of the better original english language VNs. I havent played the sequel Hate Plus yet but I've heard its even better.
