SD's Official Female Protagonist Tournament Prelims: Rin Toosaka vs Kaori Miyazono

Rin Toosaka(Fate series)

Rin is a model student and idol of Shirou's school. She barely talks to other students in her school and exhibits a desire to be left alone as exemplified by her tendency to stay on the school's rooftop, away from the rest of the students. She is secretly a Magus and a Master in the Fifth Holy Grail War. In the beginning of the anime, she summons Archer for her Servant, although she originally wanted to summon Saber. Rin is reared as the successor to her family's magecraft, instructed by her father Tokiomi Toosaka to prioritize sorcery over her own interests.

Kaori Miyazoo(Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso)

Kaori Miyazono is one of the main protagonists of Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. She is a violinist who helps Kousei Arima return to the piano world after his mother's death. Kaori Miyazono was a free-spirited violinist whose playing style reflects on her personality. She was independent, unpredictable, and short-tempered. It is also touched upon that she could have been passive aggressive at times. Kaori liked to depend on herself and only herself and could be seen as more of a support for others.

Haven't watched or read Shigatsu yet, mainly because I heard its a tear jerker and I haven't been in a mood to go through one of those, so I don't know enough about Kaori to give an opinion, but she has a nice character design if that counts for anything.

She and Kousei Arima are two of the most interesting characters I've seen in anime. <3

 

Rin is alright, not bad at all, but Kaori is simply more interesting imo
