Episodes: 10 | Source: Manga | Genres: Adventure, Drama, Fantasy, Shounen
    Synopsis
Following the First-Class Mage Exam, the trio—elven mage Frieren, warrior Stark, and first-class mage Fern—gains access to the dangerous Northern Plateau. As the party presses onward toward Aureole, formidable adversaries force Stark to confront his insecurities, solidifying his resolve and his role as the party's frontliner. Meanwhile, Fern continues to cherish the gifts she has been blessed with throughout her life, each a reminder of those she holds dear.

Frieren—still honoring her vow to understand humanity—revisits memories of her journey with the Hero's party and her fleeting encounter with a legendary figure. As she reflects on the passage of time, the elven mage quietly questions whether she has truly changed, yet in the small, almost subtle choices that she makes, there are signs that she might have become more human than she realizes.

Episode 1 was good, pretty chill. Frieren found a magic nullifying crystal, which was worth enough gold to buy a mansion. God damn. Unfortunately, Fern insisted on discarding it, due to it stopping their use of magic within a 3m radius, so it's a bit dangerous for them to travel with it. On the way, they ended up falling into an underground cave which was filled with the anti-magic crystal, so they had to rely on Stark. When Frieren was sleeping, they were attacked by a venomous apex dragon, a terrible match up for Stark, and Frieren could apparently sleep so easily due to her trust in Stark. xD The tactic employed was running to get away lmao.

When they set up camp, Stark was the first one back from gathering. Frieren and Fern were bathing and Fern wasn't happy when Stark came across them, although they were fully clothed. Although she said she wasn't mad, she was a bit moody, and even Frieren noticed. xD

They happened across an Inn on their journey, and ran into Wirbel, Scharf and Ehre. They're heading North due to it being so dire with the demons there. Wirbel continued trying to recruit Stark, and Freiren had no issues. In the end, Stark continued his refusal and explained to Fern that he wasn't forced to join them and was happy on the journey with them. Fern made up with Stark in the end, before they set off the next morning.

Episode 2 was good. The group ended up in a southern village where a request was taken to clean the statue of a great hero. Stark expected it to be Himmel, so was surprised when it wasn't. xD The hero was The Hero of the South, and humanity's strongest. Frieren assured the title was deserved. Apparently, he fought all seven of the Sages of Destruction and defeated three of them before he was defeated by Schlacht the Omniscient who could see a thousand years into the future, although they killed each other in battle. Crazy, especially when the heroes party only managed to defeat two of them.

The Hero of the South met Frieren before she joined Himmel, but failed to recruit her. That's when he confided that he had some level of foresight, and told her about Himmel successfully recruiting her as well as his own death. He left a message with Frieren for him, that he would clear a path for Himmel, and even if his contributions were forgotten, it was worth it. He wasn't forgotten at all. What a beast!

Frieren was acting strange trying to get out of the next town quickly. But, unfortunately they were cornered by an invite to dinner by the lord, Earl Dach. xD Frieren is familiar with the family, and in the past they made stupid requests with basically "comply or end up in jail" threats. Luckily, the current ruler seemed alright, but he requested for them to retrieve their family heirloom sword which was stolen by a demon. This happened once before and Himmel was the one to slay the demon and retrieve the sword. Although last time, the sword was sold to the demon, it isn't clear if that happened again.

The group came across a destroyed village, where a "travelling priest" was praying respects to the dead. When she asked them to pray, Fern and Stark did close their eyes to comply while Frieren attacked. Turns out that was the Sword Demon in disguise. Together they took her out and took the sword back to the village. They left with the reward; a spell to turn a green apple into a red one. xD

Episode 3 was good. The next town they visited, they were very much looking forward to the hotspring, only for it to no longer be there, as when the more successful adventurers stopped coming through business dried up. However, one of the locals did say about a supposed secret hotspring that was around, although the tale was from 30 years ago. Frieren was familiar and warned against visiting it, but Stark insisted. When they got there, turns out that it was more like for feet. xD Stark knew all along from Eisen telling him, but wanted to experience it for himself.

After reaching another town, they got to enjoy a proper hotspring, although Freiren spends too much time there. xD With Stark and Fern alone, Stark made a comment about going on a date if Fern wanted his attention so badly, and she agreed before running off. xD Stark asked Freiren for advise, and she's clueless but did give some good suggestions for things that Fern would appreciate, although it was all advise given to her from Heiter. Funny that Frieren and Stark basically had a date, and Freiren was clueless. xD When Fern asked for her advice about the date later that night, she confirmed to having a date, but gave a clueless explanation. xD

Episode 4 was good, but that "date" was most painful. xD Very awkward, and Fern and Stark basically just talked about Frieren the whole time. I thought he would've at least complimented her for dressing different, but he only asked why she was in a different attire. xD Stark did end up confessing that he got the idea for what to do from Frieren and Fern still thanked him for his effort, even though it seemed minimal on his part. xD Fern kind of enjoyed it, enough.

When they got to the North, they went through 3 days and nights of struggle against some tough monsters before getting to an Inn with a free room. The Inn Keeper asked for them to slay a tough monster in the area as payment, and they agreed. Even the knights were helpless against it. I thought it was a demon at first, but apparently it was just a monster. It was very much strong, but the group was able to defeat it.

Episode 5 was good. First half was them running into another Dwarf named Fass that Frieren met back when she was with the hero part, and his life's work has been searching for a legendary booze, the supposed best and he requested Frieren to help him break the magic barrier protecting it. Frieren originally declined for [reasons] as well as the 3 months it would take. Stark and Fern were sympathetic at the 200 years in search of it but also wanted the money offered so they got Frieren to agree. xD

Turns out, the booze was probably the worst, but Milliarde, another elf Frieren knew had engraved the stone with a story about it. In the end, Fass just laughed it off, and followed what Heiter said he would do in that case, which was to also share it with people, with the first to suffer being Frieren, Stark and Fern. He spread it to the village so they could suffer together. xD

Venturing further into the North, the bread has become hard as rock. It used to be prosperous under the logistics network of a trading company the Norm Company that had their own soldiers, etc. When they arrived, the current leader Norm asked Frieren to pay up her debt from 80 years ago form his great grand father. The ask for was 500 gold coins, and Frieren paid 200, so he threw her into the mines to work for a few hundred years. xD In the end, he felt forced due to the ravaging the demons had done, crippling their company. Frieren was able to easily locate silver in the mines, clearing the debt and helping them.
