Yeah. Same reason mobile prices are also going to go up next year. Because of increased pricing and such for NPU chips and memory.

And the planet. AI servers are eating up power and also our water reserves (which they are using in coolant systems).

Microsoft and Google were both caught sapping up drinking water for AI server cooling systems.

AI has pushed people to commit suicide. There have also been three separate peer-reviewed studies which have shown that some AI are willing to resort to threats, blackmail, and even murder of human beings in order to avoid replacement or shut-down.

And, yes, I have actually read those articles and watched videos from reputable sources that covered the topics. I am mot just going off of clickbait headlines.

And then there are the environmental impacts of AI servers and such, which are contributing more and more to climate change.

So... Yeah. AI will literally be the death of us.
