Has happened to us many times in the past Monkeys have become a huge problem where I live as well. Our poor security guard literally shooes them away every day so. I have a BB gun to scare them away

I hear that. The broadband in our previous office was so terrible (albeit it was reliably always on) that it was better to work on mobile hotspot much of the time.

Must've been Legendary with only some scoring skulls on, then.

Question: When you tried it, were your crosshair and other HUD items missing? And when you were killed, did you get back to last checkpoint or start of the level?

Oh, yeah. That was LASO, then. The lack of HUD is the result of the Blind skull, and the reverting back to the start of the level on dying is the result of the Iron skull. Those are the two most important skulls in LASO runs.

By the way, there are easy fixes for both:

- For Blind, you can stick a small and triangular red or yellow or orange piece of paper to the centre of the screen, which can act as your crosshair. Yes, this is a thing in the Halo community. Has been since Halo 2 back in 2004.

- For Iron, there are two solutions:
* The easiest and most common solution is to save last checkpoint and quit at the very moment of death. When you resume the game from the menu, you will have reverted to the last checkpoint you got just before dying. This does not affect scoring or the challenge rules. You will still get the scores and achievements. You will only lose 150 to 250 points for each save-quite, and that is all.
* Have someone play co-op with you. You could even ask them to just sit there and not do anything. The Iron skull in co-op does not revert you to the start of the level on any one player's death; both players together are reverted back to the last checkpoint.

Obviously, the first one is the easiest, since you don't need another player and system. You can just save and quit to main menu, then resume at last checkpoint. However, you absolutely have to be quick with this, and make sure to save and quit as soon as you can see yourself dying. If you delay in saving/quitting a bit (more than two seconds after death) you might still find yourself taken back to the start of the level when you resume. So you have to hit the pause button as soon as you die, compose yourself, then save-quit.

Okay, that got a genuine chuckle out of me.

 

What is insane is that a casual run-through of a Halo campaign in full on LASO can take a total of 30-50 hours for players of moderate skill.
