    I noticed there were a lot of threads in the chatroom corner that didn't make sense and was trying to sort through them to figure out which ones were actual threads and which were just people messing around. I will admit it was pretty daunting when I first registered and couldn't figure out where to post, despite going to both of the locations that it recommended for me to post/create a thread in, both claimed I had insufficient privileges and I had to contact a staff member to get approved.

    Chatroom corner is just a shitpost section, basically. There's not really "proper" threads.

    That's strange, all of the permissions should've been fine, but I think limitations can be removed now anyway, seeing as there isn't really spam accounts being created now.

    I was seriously tempted to screenshot it to prove it too. I checked after an hour or more and it still wouldn't let me create a thread or reply to threads in this section.

    It was most likely due to how the forum software works. Due to spam, I crated a usergroup which limited posting. I can't recall the specifics as it was a while ago, but maybe threads were limited to be created in this section too. Once the message limit was reached (this was an arbitrary amount; 1 or 5), the usergroup should've been upgraded to standard. However, most of the actions aren't live; it's something that runs either hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, etc. Either way, the usergroup has been removed now so it shouldn't be an issue going forward.
