Was sitting through my daily dose of the Star Wars fandom, and watched some random videos about the next movies and comics... People in general didn't like Sabine or Aphra? Why? They're great characters and actually have interesting stories around them, unlike so many other protagonists from the modern Star Wars.

 

Work and college?

Just fine. Work is a pain in the ass, but I'm fine. Easting, exercising, sleeping well.

What about you? Everything okay health-wise?

I think it's only a very small but very vocal minority who hated them.

Sabine haters:
Mostly pathetic incel nutjobs who saw Sabine as forced diversity (she looks Chinese/Japanese) and her purple-dyed hair is associated with toxic feminism.

Aphra:
Same as above (Aphra is also meant to look Japanese). Throw in homophobia as well (Aphra is openly gay and she had the first shown gay kiss in a Star Wars comic) and the hatred she receives is even worse.

But, as I said, it's just a vocal minority of pathetic whiny man-babies. I myself have mostly seen positive reception to these characters and only some negativity. And the negativity towards them has almost completely died out in the past few months. I guess it's due to a combination of haters growing up and deciding to shut up, and also sane fans (silent majority) getting sick of the hatred and starting to rise up against the toxicity.

 

Guess I was running into just angry people, next isn't the best filter when watching videos on youtube. Half the time I end up on Johhny Youngs music, which isn't unwelcome but weird to end up at from star wars and halo lore.

 

Just mark "not interested" in the toxic channels (this works only if logged in) and you'll be fine. Two channels you should definitely avoid and mark as "not interested in this channel" are Geeks + Gamers and World Class Bullshitters. They've both built careers out of spreading fake news about upcoming films/shows/games and making personal attacks against good people.

Yeah. Youtube's algorithm is all sorts of weird. In my feed I keep getting news videos from Republic TV & Times Now despite marking "not interested" in their channels. I also keep getting these click-bait top 10 videos in my feed, even though I've dismissed most as "uninterested".

I didn't even know not interested was an option, gonna be dropping that everywhere. World Class Bullshitters are one I've ran across before, title of the channel's sure right.

 

I hadn't seem them yet, definitely gonna add them to my subscriptions.
