    Not much I installed CachyOs and then tried a game or two back when I was having pc issues and because the issue showed up straight away I just wiped the drive. Was very easy to install and get up and running.

    I see.

    For now, I want to try Linux Mint on an old laptop of mine, since it is much easier/lighter on the hardware side. Might consider Bazzite or CachyOS for "newer" (anything from 2019 and later) hardware.

    Okay. Thanks anyways.

    I asked because those two seem to be the best Linux distros for gaming. And I'm particularly interested in Bazzite for some reasons.

    * It is designed to be close to Steam OS, which I know is stupidly easy to use.

    * It uses a marketplace style installer for apps in addition to Flatpak.

    * It is built around Fedora, a Linux distro optimized for privacy. Hell, even Linus Torvalds himself uses Fedora.

    Nice then, hopefully goes well.

    Yeah I believe that's the case, at least as an out of box experience. I presume you can still set up the other distros to be effectively the same, would just need to download the relevant applications and whatever else.

    Yeah. Theoretically any decent Linux distro is easy to get the way one wants. You just have to dick around within them a lot to get them that way.

    AI data centres are not just eating up RAM, storage, GPUs, and other such precious silicone. They are now also eating up wi-fi modules and antennas for the sake of AI sandbox agents. It is why many phones shipped this year with wi-fi 5 when their direct predecessors shipped with wi-fi 6 or even 6e. The prices of wi-fi modules and antennas have also doubled or even tripled in the last two years.

    It truly never ends. Even worse, most of the gpus and shit are sitting in warehouses. They aren't bringing the capacity online they say they are.

    ^ Just one source talking about this in a simplified manner.

    Anyway... The AI cos are harvesting the silicone from high-end GPUs and putting them in the data centres and AI sandboxes. In fact, AI cos might have bought up as much as 80-90% (yes, you read that correctly) of high-end/flagship-grade GPUs shipped out of Taiwan.

    I think they simply stopped production on the 50 series, at least 5090. The GPUs are being sold, but I don't believe all of the capacity is going online. A lot of the data centres they would be going into are still being built. I think that they are buying them up because nvidia said they won't sell them if they don't buy them and instead of them all telling nvidia to **** off, they all jumped to buy them. xD Funniest part is, when all these data centres finally go online, the next gen will be out, so they will be worse off.

    @upsurge Have you heard of Ed Zitron? I never really heard of the guy, but he seems like one of the only journalists looking into the whole AI thing and some of the information he reads is insane.
