    I also never used Google photos and just ignored it. Now I just actively avoid it.

    Google released an update early this year which forced on the option to back-up photos & videos from your phone's DCIM folder to the cloud. I only found this out after suddenly receiving a notification that my Google cloud storage was almost full. I was startled. It was supposed to have less than 1 GB used up. I find that it is indeed almost full, with Google Photos taking up 93.5% of storage. I did a quick search and found that Google forcefully turned on cloud back-up in Google Photos.

    So... I disabled it, and spent a full ninety minutes cleaning out Google Photos.

    I also outright uninstalled Google Photos from my phone. Previously, it could only be disabled. Now, however, it can be uninstalled.

    PS:
    All of my photos and videos in digital form are backed up on physical hardware that I own and is currently sitting safely in my room. Fukk these cloud companies.

    Yeah I mean you could easily store them on multiple different things from just general pc internal drive, usb, external hdd, blu-ray disc, or you could also purchase separate cloud storage (not google) and then encrypt before backing up so they can't access the files you back up. But yeah, I know some people just prefer stuff like that which is fine, I get it. Certainly convenient and if it's permanently free, I wouldn't call it a bad decision necessarily.

    If I had to back up my photos & videos in cloud, I would much rather back that shit up somewhere else. I would sooner back them up on some Chinese servers than Google, Microsoft, Samsung, or Amazon. Ugh...

    Yeah, I mean, if they're encrypted you probably don't have to worry, but yeah, I'd do something else probably.

    Hmm... Hard to pick. I have different favourite joints for individual dishes.

    Can recommend Adata. They shipped back 2 brand new sticks same spec. Different serial number, could be another used/referb unit I guess but seems new looking at the sticks. Doesn't matter either way.
