Fun Fact:
Leopard-like camouflage prints have evolved in dozens of cat species independently of each other, via convergent evolution. The pattern is just that effective for camouflage, it seems. There may have even been maniraptoran dinosaurs with leopard-like feather patterns as early as 150 million years ago. We already know of three theropod dinosaurs with tiger-like striped feather patterns from Cretaceous China. So it is entirely possible.

One more thing:
Several cats which evolved the so-called leopard-print pattern in the Leopardus genus are not closely related to the leopard at all. They belong to the Felinae sub-family (while the leopard is in the Pantherinae sub-family). Their last common ancestor lived between 16 and 18 million years ago. Once again I must stress that this pattern keeps popping up because it is just that effective.

The small maniraptoran dinosaur Sinornithosaurus is confirmed to have actually looked like this:

Damn, those a pretty cool looking.

Stuff like that is always pretty interesting. Also interesting that some dinosaurs are kind of similar in some ways.

Bengal cats actually look pretty badass. And the hand-feel of their fur is something else altogether. It is heavenly.

Stuff like that is always pretty interesting. Also interesting that some dinosaurs are kind of similar in some ways.

Considering the dinosaurs came first, they can be considered the pioneers of camouflage patterns.

The earliest known example of counter-shading on a land animal is from a dinosaur.
The earliest known example of other outline-breaking patterns is from a dinosaur.
The earliest known example of stripes for camouflage is from a feathered dinosaur.

That first one reminds me... @Laraib
Borealopelta is the first known non-Coelurosaur dinosaur we know the colours for.
On the back it was deep red fading to deep pink on the sides. The belly was beige. The tail was beige with dark red stripes.
Yeah. A red, pink, beige dinosaur.

That's Convergent Evolution, baby. When unrelated animals evolve similar body plans, body parts, lifestyles, etc for whatever reason.

Ichtyosaurs (reptiles) and dolphins (derived mammals) evolved similar body plans.
Temnosponsdyls (amphibians) and crocodiles (archosaurian reptiles) evolved similar body plans.
The Afro-Asian cheetah and American cheetah (which actually descended from pumas) evolved similar bodies independently of each other.
The Americas' jaguar and Australian Thylacoleo evolved similar body plans and bite mechanisms.

That reminds me... Australia is a scary place in a funny way. Australia looked at the deadliest megafaunal predators from other parts of the world and was like "That's cool! Imma copy that!" and produced similar - but unrelated - predators via convergent evolution. And this isn't even new. Australia has apparently been doing this for 250 million years.
