Discussion Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War

Episode 1 was fantastic. Man, such a large improvement in clarity. Yeah, I'd prefer no CGI but it's definitely amongst the best I've seen I think. Those poor rookie soul reapers that were patrolling Katakura got no diffed by those hallows, so Ichigo and the team rolled up. Ichigo showed off a little using bankai. LMAO at Ichigo kicking the Quincy in the face. The declaration of war was brutal, with Sasakibe just impaled to the wall. The Quincy saying the security is lacking but Yamamoto just like "I am the security." The Quincy can apparently steal Bankai, but Ichigo is immune. Yhwach looking dapper.

 

Episode 2 was great. Sasakibe confirmed KIA. RIP. They held a ceremony for his death. Nel and Pesche arrived begging for Ichigo's help after Hueco Mundo was invaded, and Dondochakka taken. Harribel herself lost to Yhwach and is held captive somewhere. Naturally, Ichigo, Orihime and Chad agreed to go, but Uryu refused due to being Quincy, and you know, their point being to exterminate the Hollows. Urahara agreed to help them enter Hueco Mundo. The invading Quincy army has wrecked havoc killing many Hollows. Was cool to see the Tres Bestias turn up and do well against the soldiers, just not so well against Quilge. Ichigo is now to confront Quilge. Mayuri revealed the war to be against the Quincy!

 

Episode 3 was good. Tres Bestias reappeared and created Ayon who seemed to wreck Quilge, only for him to be fine enough and take out Apacci. The advancements the Quincy have made within the Wandenreich which Souken discarded have made them extremely formidable. Using his Vollständig, and absorbing Reishi including that from Ayon powered Quilge up even further, and Ichigo is now confronting him with Bankai. Looks like Dondochakka was just hiding lmao. Urahara, Pesche and Dondochakka are on their way back to Ichigo. The Wandenreich has now invaded the Soul Society kicking off the battle, and so far it's a bloodbath.

Based on Kurotsuchi chewing out Yamamoto, he blames him for sparing Yhwach 1000 years ago. He also apparently warned Yamamoto when Uryu was a Ryoka when invading the Soul Society, but that was ignored. Uryu learn of I guess the Soul Reapers exterminating the Quincy, but more specifically, that they weren't all dead and were hiding in the Wandenreich.

 

Episode 4 was another banger. Man I'm just vibing out to the OST they go hard. Sasakibe warned them against using their Bankai with literally his dying breath, so it seems a bit stupid for a handful of them to instantly use it. But, at the same time, Byakuya raised a decent point that they had to, to get intel. Still, Kurotsuchi was understandably berating them. Dude is like, give me 10 seconds. So match ups so far are Komamura vs Bambietta, Byakuya and Renji vs As Nodt, Robert vs Kyoraku and he already took Kyoraku's eye RIP. Nanana vs Rose, with Soifon and Hitsugaya up against mystery enemies.

The Soul Society has requested urgent aid from Ichigo with the dire circumstances, but Urahara took the call. Urahara confirmed Ichigo's Bankai can't be taken for whatever reason, which they need to figure out. Thanks to Ichigo making Quilge mad, Urahara delivered what he thought was a fatal blow. Only, for Quilge to attack Urahara, Chad and Orihime from behind wounding them and trapping Ichigo in a prison.

 

Episode 5 was absolute cinema. Man, you can feel poor Ichigo's frustration, dude can't break out and is just hearing the carnage in the Soul Society. Quilge prepared to finish off Orihime, Chad and Urahara, only to be sliced in two. GG. Byakuya attempted to do his best against As Nodt with the stolen power, but his Schrift The Fear is kind of broken, making Byakuya freeze up in combat. Kenpachi went straight for Yhwach after killing 3 Sternritter. Sliced one in half, tore the other one's throat and, and the third one became him, so he simply became stronger than himself. Hisagi was backed into a corner against the one that killed Sasakibe, Driscoll. The more he kills the stronger he gets, but man, Yamamoto is way too pissed and saved Hisagi with that look. Got a glipse of the respect and relations of Yamamoto and Sasakibe, and he just tanked the stolen Bankai, then literally melted the dude to death lmao. Yamamoto's rage as reinvigorated the Shinigami's morale.

 

Episode 6 was absolutely GOATed. Yhwach took out Kenpachi. GG. Feels so good to see Yamamoto's bankai, but he has to be careful he doesn't destroy the Soul Society. In the end, it was Royd Yamamoto fought, the twin of Loyd. When Yhwach reappeared, he stole Yamamoto's Bankai then bisected him. GG. Before that, he revealed that he visited Aizen who refused to serve under Yhwach and join him.

Nah, Aizen had nothing to do with it. Remember how there was a Sternritter which turned into Kenpachi? It's the brother, they have the ability to transform into people copying them.

 

Yup, I think it's explained in actual detail maybe next episode, but I mean it's all already there, just not overly explained.
