    Seeing the "Captured on PS5 Pro" for an IP that was once Xbox's flagship title is insane.

    Also... We have confirmation from insiders that all the cutscenes are real-time rendered, as was common with Halo. If so, this is all impressive on a technical level.

    Now I'm worried about the darn system requirements. They will probably be quite high.

    ue5 + lumen + nanite + forced raytracing = dogshit performance + bloated install size

    the holy quartet of red flags for optimization. They will obviously rely on upscaling crutches too for their recommended specs chart, if they don't then it's a lot more fine, but i am 99% sure it has upscaling factored in. At least not framegen, but that's like saying the turd is gold instead of brown. I still don't understand who (in terms of hardware) they are making these games for. Will run terribly even on a 5090 9800x3d.

    I don't think real time rendered is that impressive, is it? it's been done for a very long time. Although I do feel like it's "lost tech" some of the time lmao, still i swear it's more common for real-time rendered cutscenes vs videos. Maybe depends on what you play.

    I mean could be surprised. Maybe it'll be fine. I think in my eyes, the cpu seems worse than the gpu spec wise potentially, but idk if that itself makes sense. But, that would be only if it's native resolution. 4k native 60fps with a 4080 by itself isn't inherently terrible. But if it's 4K quality upscaling or balance, or performance it's kinda of dogshit. Native 4k is very demanding, and Ultra settings is usually unnecessarily heavy. Also, I wouldn't think increasing render resolution would increase the need for extra cpu power by that much, which smells weird, but it could be UE5 shenanigans. I guess the specs chart doesn't give enough information away to know for sure, but it for sure is a little red-flaggy. But also, isn't the point of a shooter for it to run well? why do we need all of these unnecessarily taxing graphics things to be on bogging down performance? Shit like mandatory raytracing in a shooter has to be the most retarded shit to see. Isn't that counter productive? I am making that assumption because those min cards are all raytracing capable cards at min iirc.

    Yeah. Halo has fast-paced gameplay, so smooth running is of the utmost priority. Will have to wait and see. I am hoping they optimise it well. But considering the state of optimisation these days... Ugh... I don't know.
