Yeah, especially when he had no issue with killing off the other people, but I guess he was out psyched by Chishiya.

Coming to an end!

Side story 6 chapter 5 weas good. So 66 days prior to current (presumably) is when The Hatter recruited Kuzuryu. Kuzuryu told Kano about his plan to tag along at the Beach due to interest, so she joined him.

Chishiya seems to have Kuzuryu trapped, and he feels obliged to chose 0, leaving Chishiya as the victor. I still don't get this 100/0 rule, kind of stupid.

It seems that the games and interactions Kuzuryu had, along with Chishiya being so careless is putting Kuzuryu's morals in a dilemma, especially when he heard the woman's story from when she "helped" him and they hid in the bus.

Kuzuryu also had asked Inoue why she chose to sacrifice herself as the witch, and the answer was she wanted to die in the name of hope. All of this led to Kuzuryu not "deciding the value of a life", so he lost himself. It seems that Kuzuryu's death hit a nerve with Chishiya too.

So, the Joker rules the world, and seemingly can decide on the rules/law and order. Second stage day 7 has 4 games and 91 players left.

 

Yeah, it's interesting to see bits of their journey.

I think by retire they mean granting them "relief" by death.

Chapter 52 was good. Starting out 5 months prior to Arisu and the current players arriving in Borderland and it's following Kyuma and his group. Kyuma really was optimistic, somehow glad he got to Borderland. It's interesting that all of the Face Cards linked up, basically from day 1.

Kanou and Kuzuryu played chess a bit I assume because he used to constantly tell her about his experiences and the corruption he witnessed as a lawyer. Seems she is unhinged, but was she always or was it more from Borderland?

As it was announced of there only being a final face card game left, Kanou speculates they get to pick between being a Borderland citizen and going back or maybe declining is death on the spot.

 

Yup pretty much lol. That into him going through another internal conflict.

Chapter 53 was good. Well, a recap of everything Arisu went through, and him having decided that being with Usagi was enough, into how he's questioning himself again. This is day 7 of the second stage. Arisu went through his mental world again, and saw his deceased friends, and it seems that he's pushing to participate again.

Jack of Spades and Queen of Clubs both were completed at the same time. Kuina was one of them.

 

I didn't see this happening lol. Chishiya and Arisu were getting along, then Niragi came out of nowhere and fucked things up, and had Chishiya switching up to trap Arisu in the battle royal.

Chapter 54 was good. So An was the one to take out the Queen of Diamonds. This leaves the King of Spades and presumably the Joker.

Niragi is still alive somehow god damn, even after not having water for days. He stumbled into a church and picked up a gun from some older man that killed himself. Niragi read some of the bible, and the man that was seemingly dead was actually alive somehow. Niragi's take was that he was loved by a lot of people over thousands of years, thus being the opposite of him. The man said about him being whipped, carrying the cross which he was later crucified on, abused and heckled by the crowd and died being hated. This only enforced Niragi's view.

The old man asked Niragi to kill him, but he refused. He wants to be the most hated guy on earth then descend to hell.

Chishiya and Arisu crossed paths, right when Chishiya was actually in a tough spot himself. Holy blue balled again. Chishiya was about to open up to Arisu, but Niragi shot Chishiya. Now Niragi and Chishiya have trapped Arisu in a battle royale.

 

Yeah, he's a complete sociopath.

Yeah, I didn't think that Chishiya would sacrifice himself for Usagi, but I guess it worked out in the favour of Arisu and Usagi.

Chapter 55 was good. Damn, we get a bit of Chishiya's backstory here. So while he was a medical student, he was actually helping at the hospital. A dying old man with days to live asked him to deliver a letter to his family as he "caused trouble" for them but couldn't speak to them fearing it'd be his last words. Chishiya accepted, but then tossed the letter into the trash as it was "too much effort". Chishiya doesn't remember much about his father other than him being engrossed in monitors and medical textbooks. It had Chishiya questioning why he was even born. He's a sociopath that can't bring himself to care about others. But we already gathered that.

Niragi just shouting how they're all selfish with Arisu trying to protest, only to seemingly realise he's right. Arisu managed to kill the mood by saying he wouldn't shoot just not for himself. Unfortunately Usagi showed up which enraged Niragi to t ry and shoot her, but Arisu in a panic shot him. Chishiya took the shot for Usagi, unexpectedly.
