But how is Samsung better when it’s worse on paper? I don’t get it

 

Both s23 and 16e work phone works for me yet… the flagship kills me, I am so mad it’s unbelievable.

I can but it's not 1-120 what hurts me, it's the pulsing of the screen itself, it doesn't matter if it's 1 or 120, the pulsing happens anyways that's just refresh rate, it's the pulse how the screen functions is what I'm sensitive to and the pulsing is very low and my brain acknowledge it. And it's not only that is low, it's very agressive compared to 23 and 16e

 

No, you can't change how the screen pulse that's how the display is made, the display functions on 480hz which is very low, humans don't realize hz above 2000 and some phones already have that kind of screens, Samsung and Iphone both don't

 

But it's also the high modulation in iphones which I'm sensitive to, 17 pro max has like 70%, 16e has 30% iirc

 

I had this problem on a PC monitor before, it was a Dell OLED 144hz one and I had same symptoms, worse in that case because I couldn't look at it for 5 minutes without feeling dizzy.

Since then I genuinely try to avoid OLED screens, I bought S23 being ignorant and thank God it worked for me because it has a stable pulse and consistent pulse.

And here we go again, few years later, same problem with a phone.
