    You won't see much different from your end lol. But basically it'll just be all banner related things moved to its own tab in the profile/account settings, allowing users to select more than one rank banner if they want, and also the one where the background can be swapped.

    Yup. They just don't give a damn about optimization these days.

    The fact that Crysis 1 and Warhead (which were, by the way, among the worst optimized games for their respective years) have greater draw distance and technical advancement than games being released nowadays is atrocious.

    And don't even get me started in the AI in games nowadays. 2010's Halo: Reach has better AI than 99% of games being released now. Heck, 2001's Halo CE has better AI than half of games being released now. And I am not even exaggerating. It is true.

    Is dandruff from Santa's pubes?

    I am not going to be playing it myself.

    However, to anyone that does: The game having Denuvo (or any strict DRM BS) means that you are morally obligated to pirate that game.

    Sail the high seas, comrades :isabelleorangejustice:

    Who the fukk cares about it feeling more "clean" if it is just impractical for most people?

    Samsung devices are known to be well balanced, with a nice feel in-hand. Ditto for Oppo, OnePlus, even Xiaomi.

    Oof size = OnePlus Ace 6T's battery

    The iphone's 480 Hz PWM, with 15% amplitude is a secondary frequency that is used for power savings and some other technical bullshit. The actual primary frequency that your eyes perceive is 120 Hz, with 25-45% amplitude, according to both Cybershack Australia and Notebookcheck Germany. That is why the PWM is messing with you.

    120 Hz PWM with 25% or higher amp, 8-bit 16.7 million colour reproduction - all on such an expensive device is absolutely inexcusable. Especially so when you have devices costing a quarter as much with 720 Hz PWM, sub-20% amp, and 10-bit 1.07 billion col rep. Heck, Xiaomi has devices costing a third as much with 12-bit displays, eye-friendly PWM, and 68 billion col rep with Dolby vision support.

    Tips, from someone who has used a Galaxy A51 (125 to 250 Hz PWM):

    * Always use dark mode. Always.

    * Get a matte screen protector made of Gorilla Glass 3, 5, or 7i. (Note: Note a typo with 7i there).

    * The lower the display brightness, the lower the PWM and higher the amp. Keep display brightness always above the 50% mark (on the manual slider). Never go below that, even in bed late at night.

    * Refrain from using the auto-brightness feature. If it makes the display too dim indoors or at night, the PWM issues will get worse.

    * Avoid using the phone indoors with no lights. Keep the lights on. I know you can't do this 100% of the time in daily usage. But try to avoid using the phone in an unlit room as much as reasonably possible.

    * Uh... Drink plenty of water. No, really. Staying hydrated helps with PWM sensitivity.

    * No iphone on the shitter. Poop phone-free.

    And lastly:

    * Consider returning the iphone and getting a different device.

    ^ Note: Being serious here. Do consider this option.

    I remember people kept shilling DLSS when it was first released and I always hated it because the blurry visuals were and it was kind of obvious imo if it was normalised then they would simply used DLSS as the target spec, and to the surprise of no one (well some people are surprised somehow) that's exactly how the tech ended up being abused. Framegen is next to be the standard baseline, in a few more years I reckon.

    I don't doubt you when you say that. Some of the game AI you might as well just have it a static png texture it's the same result.

    What is the point of PWM meant to be by the way? Is it them just trying to make it seem more fluid than it actually is?

    Have you considered Fairphone?

    But, yes, in general: Fukk every phone company.

    The game publishing companies are full of greedy idiots that need to be guillotined and the gaming communities are full of idiots whose systems need to be confiscated for their own damn good.

    Some recent Ubisoft titles have had AI so atrocious that they range from laughable to just plain sad.

    PWM dimming in OLED displays is a method of brightness and colour accuracy control, and it allegedly offers the following advantages compared to eye-friendly DC dimming:

    * Cheaper.
    * More energy efficient.
    * Does not sacrifice colour accuracy.
    * Extended display longevity and durability.

    However, I do not believe these arguments hold water since late 2020-21.

    The Redmi Note 13 Pro (2023) is the best example of this. That device is cheaper than the Galaxy A34 and A54 of the same year, and comes with a 10-bit 1.07 billion colour display with Dolby Vision support, 700 Hz PWM with 13% amplitude backed by DC dimming, there is no noticeable difference in battery life with or without DC dimming enabled, DC dimming does not seem to affect its colour accuracy, older devices (from Motorola) using the exact same DC dimming tech don't seem to have sacrificed display durability or longevity even after several years, the Redmi in question is known for having a display that is quite drop resistant.

    The same all apply to the likes of the Motorola Edge series, comparable Honor and Huawei devices, and comparable Oppo devices.

    At this point, Samsung and LG have no excuses for their shit-ass outdated displays. Those two and the likes of Apple and Google are just being stingy motherfukkers.

    Yup.

    Of that I have no doubt lmao.

    If I had to guess, it's probably just cheaper because it's widely used or some shit so they go with it. I never would've associated something with diming in the name to colour accuracy. Or is it more to do with retaining colour accuracy depending on screen brightness, etc? Idk, such a thing seems kind of pointless on a phone almost, but maybe it is a large difference, but I doubt it.

    Star Wars Outlaws AI is so bad that people are disgusted to the point that they don't even want to make memes of how bad that AI is any more, and they don't even want to pirate the game.

    It is penny-pinching, plain and simple. DC dimming tech is so cheap, widespread, and so inconsequential for colour accuracy right now that the likes of Samsung and LG have no excuse for not adopting that tech into their own displays.

    Meanwhile, BBK and even TCL are raking in the money from selling their clearly vastly superior displays to all sorts of clients worldwide.

    @underlined
    Yup. Pretty much. Also to make the display allegedly more energy efficient.

    However, Oppo and OnePlus have proven the latter point to be utter bullshit with all of their AMOLED-equipped smartphones. They deliver better battery life using 10-bit displays with high PWM and DC-dimming than comparable Samsung devices using 8-bit displays and 240 Hz PWM.

    Xiaomi and Motorola also seem to be on track to fixing the DC-dimming energy efficiency issues in their devices. The issue seems to be mostly gone with the Poco F8 series, Redmi Note 15 series, and Motorola Edge 50 series onwards.

    A lot of people desire increased colour accuracy on mobile displays for the sake of more accurate photo/video previews, better gaming experiences, and also better cinematic experiences.

    I know this shit may not seem like such a big deal to you and even myself. However, given that better is possible for the same amount of money, Samsung and LG have no excuses for being cheap cunts.

    At this point, I'm willing to believe they are not just being cheap, but outright malicious.

    Off the iphone instead and buy either a Fairphone or Jolla.

    I mean that game did look like a pile of shit. xD

    Yeah, makes sense then (it doesn't but for what I was thinking).

    If they're saying extra shit make something more energy efficient I generally don't believe it, I assume they just mean it can help manage power draw or something.

    But yeah, that's very frustrating to just go with the objectively worse thing, especially on a premium product.

    I get it, and I think we are of the same mind. Color accuracy in this case doesn't seem worth the trade off/associated negatives here. Especially considering it's a phone. But some people also do use their phones as someone would a monitor, laptop, tv, etc. But yes, I also agree if they are using it regardless, they shouldn't be shitty about penny pinching, especially when they just pass that cost onto the consumer anyway.
