    The media ban is retarded and parents need to parent their kids instead of crying for the government to regulate shit for them. But yes, the shooting was a terrible thing to see.

    You know the cool thing about being a parent? You can raise your kid the way you want. Don't want them on social media? There's a billion ways to restrict access or monitor it.

    This is true. It was spear headed because some younger girl (I cant remember if like 12/13 or 15/16 but killed herself over cyberbullying or something like that. Yes, it's tragic, but at the same time, I think it's the parents role to moderate what their kid does or engages with on the internet. Sure the cause may be "good" under that pretence, but how can you be sure it's just perverted at this point like you say. For data collection, or moderating the internet, or tracking what people do.

    Far more kids commit suicide over in-person bullying and torment in actual schools and colleges.

    They don't give a shit about kids. This is about control and nothing else.

    I feel like that just the ideal scenario which is just not possible to maintain.

    I'd say we'd be nuts to assume parents can monitor what their kid is doing 24/7 especially when everyone has a phone nowadays.

    There will always be a way to access stupidity and restricting it from the high up is easier than betting on parents doing their part which they aren't by the way hence why this happened probably.

    To be honest, IMO, kids have nothing to do on the internet, too much potential risks and having kids being able to have internet history from early is just danger, danger and danger.

    Though I agree parents are at fault the most but then again, kids aren't stupid lol, times changed, parents changed. Internet is on your palm.

    With all do respect, devices come with parental controls either built in, or you can use software which is virtually impossible to get around. It's a non-issue. Parents are just too lazy to do it and would rather cry for the government to raise their kids. If you aren't going to spend at absolute worst a few hours figuring out how to moderate what your kid does on their device, then simply don't buy them the device in the first place.

    There's a small amount of caring about the kids, but 100% it's 99% about control. I was going to type a wall of text about feeling like cyberbullying is kind of a joke, but decided not to. I feel like it's partially because people increasingly can't seem to separate words on the internet to real life. I also feel like it's because everything is "safe" and "eggshelled" nowadays. I think the everything is 24/7 positivity shit nowadays has actually massively amplified the affects of any sort of negativity because people aren't desensitised to shit.

    ^ This.

    Parental controls exist for a reason.

    Also, you can buy your kid a damn feature phone for use in emergencies (instead of a smartphone) to be extra careful. And if one does buy them a smartphone, fukking teaching them how to be responsible and being open with them about porn and predators is the way it should be done.

    The people who do give a shit about kids mostly would not vote for a law like this. The people who passed it are okay with homeless kids dying on the street due to starvation or exposure, and kids dying in Palestine via weapons sales they authorized. They also don't give a shit about school children committing suicide due to bullying. Otherwise, we would see far more active campaigns to deal with shit like that. The people who passed this law also clearly don't give a damn that Australia is among the top destinations for paedos from other nations to flee to, from Catholic priests to American cops to Israelis with Epstein links.

    Care for kids: None

    They only give a damn about their own parasitic crotch spawn.

    It's such a slippery slope too. Before you know it, you have your very own "curated" internet experience where you have the privilege of only visiting the websites daddy government says you can. Or downloading the apps daddy government says are ok. Sounds an awful lot like North Korea if it were to pan out that way.

    The Indian government already has such plans. Thankfully, such a plan would be difficult to implement without declaring a full-blown emergency.

    The UK government is also planning something stupid. Well, far stupider than the shit they have already done. A UK citizen could risk being branded a terrorist soon for the mere act of criticizing capitalism. I wish I was making this up, but I am not. Public school teachers in the UK already face the risk of loss of job and pensions if they criticize capitalism in the classroom (yes, it has happened). Soon they could also be branded as terrorists outright for doing so on social media or elsewhere online.

    I have no doubt you're being truthful, after all people get arrested if they say the wrong thing on the internet in the UK.

    The UK and Australian cops are questioning, arresting, and watch-listing people for the stupidest shit.

    A month ago, an Aussie couple were interrogated by ASIO for putting a keffiyeh on a sculpture (which they made) and presented at a public art exhibition where they had enrolled.

    The UK cops are still [i.e. even today] detaining and interrogating people carrying "too many" eggs in public. Yes, that is a thing.

    And don't even get me started on Germany. They make the UK and Aussies seem sane in comparison.

    And now we have information coming in that the Bondi beach shooting suspects were given six gun licenses each (you need one license per firearm in Australia) despite ASIO having them on a watch-list for known ISIL links. Take those facts into consideration, along with the fact that ISIL is a known ally of Israel (they even issued a formal apology to Israel once for a mistaken attack against an IDF FOB), and you have what looks like a terror attack that was allowed to happen by the authorities for the sake of political gains.

    @Blazing Storm
    @Laraib

    Forgot to say this earlier.

    Yesterday, the wife and I made a day-trip to Jayamangali Blackbuck Reserve. Saw two herds of blackbuck and 43 species of birds.
