It almost seems like some rules are made up as they go

It's expected that we don't find out from An straight away who the witch is, but it's annoying she's taken out like immediately. I hoped she'd team up with Arisu with her intellect she'd be a great asset. It also seems like her morals align with their groups.

Chapter 24 was good. So Last Boss idolised Robert Edwin Peary, an explorer who spent his life trying ot reach the North Pole and failed repeatedly losing 8 toes to frostbite. In 1909 he was the first European to reach the North Pole. While people viewed Robert's ways as suicidal, Last Boss saw it as the freedom of living without fear of death, or even being able to embrace it. I can only assume it's just because of how detached he is from reality, but somehow Last Boss resents living in a safe environment. Once he found himself in Borderland he fully embraced it, and decided to get his face tattoo so he couldn't return to normal life and wanted to stay there forever.

33 players and 28 minutes remain. Kuina actually hoped to reason with Last Boss to stop the killing, then realised she was foolish in hoping for that. He almost killed her, but she managed to barely dodge his sword.

Switching over to Suguru vs Chishiya, Chishiya is actually planning to rush the gun wielding Suguru seemingly to take him in hand to hand combat. That is so stupid lmao. Suguru lined up his shot and was basically pulling the trigger, when somehow Chishiya scattered the stolen cards which had Suguru not pulling the trigger and getting completely out of his shooting position cuasing a massive delay in him trying to aim up Chishiya again. He saw Chishiya pulling out a home-made flame throwing which was immediately used on him. I doubt Suguru is dead as he jumped into the pool, but I guess he could be. I don't understand why he stalled so much shooting Chishiya, it feels so wrong that Chishiya somehow ran, closed a fairly large gap quicker than Suguru could fire a single shot.

Last boss is still trying to kill Kuina, be she also has some serious plot armor. She picked up a chair which was enough to take the brunt of the next sword swing, and leave her unscathed. When Kuina asks Last Boss about his past, he basically rejects it and just says he doesn't have a past. Kuina laments to them being alike in that regard in that she also rejects her past. Apparently Kuina is or was a male? Not that it matters, but I can't tell if that is the case, or if it's just her father ignoring having a daughter and forcing her to be a "son". Now a true show down begins Kuina wanting to overcome the past, as Last Boss is like a mirror. Of course, the talking somehow has Last Boss from just wanting to instantly kill to somehow being less offensive, for now.

An found out who the witch was, but the group of Militants have attacked here and she seems critically wounded.

Apparently Arisu has figured out who the witch is, by putting himself in the shoes of the one running the game. 30 players and 18 minutes remain.

 

Chapter 25 was good. Kuina is resolving to kill last boss, but isn't sure she'll go through with it. In the past, the father was tough on Kuina, wanting him at the time to inherit the dojo, but the mother just wanted Kuina to be happy.

Kuina and her mother had a bittersweet reunion. The mother kept that a divorce happened and that she's been bedridden and alone. Kuina questions if it's her fault for being selfish, but the mother insists on it not being Kuina's fault. Kuina proposed to take care of her mother, and that is when she ended up in borderland.

Kuina managed to get in Last Boss' head with some shit talking, and then blocked the sword with a... plastic bottle??? and then landed some brutal blows on him. 14 minutes and 30 players remain.

Usagi is helping Arisu to where he wants to go which is the first floor lobby, believing that is where the witch is. The other two are still with them. Tatta ran ahead, but as they rounded the corner he was unconscious on the ground. Aguni appears here dragging a knocked out Kuina by the hair.

Arisu asks if Aguni is or isn't the witch, but can't read his expression. Arisu reasons that Aguni's men tied him up before the game, so he can be ruled out as the witch. But goes on to question Aguni, if he isn't the witch, then why kill him or why not cooperate to find the witch. In return, Arisu just gets kicked.

So Arisu has ruled out Aguni as the witch. He's saying that The Hatter killed Momoka, and in turn Aguni killed The Hatter. But I don't understand if Arisu is saying if The Hatter is the witch or not, if he's already dead, the game shouldn't be ongoing?

Didn't Aguni kill The Hatter because he Killed Momoka? But yeah, as a result he's the leader and it's also implying that The Hatter is the witch, which I find doesn't make sense, because I don't think the game should run if the witch was already dead, right? Idk, maybe translation is off here.

I have ruled out Chishiya as the witch, as he seems almost the most negatively impacted, given he was about to get away. But yeah, idk.

Ok cool. Yeah, although it's just for a day so it's fine.

Nah, I presume she wasn't initially dead, but I mean, she's surrounded by people that want to kill her and knocked out, so not sure how she'd survive. I'd be happy if she did survive though, because like I said, I think she'd make a good boon to Arisu and Usagi's group.

I think that just slipping out makes more sense rather than trying to create a chaotic scene by killing someone. He was already home free due to them scrambling over the two deaths and hierarchy change.
