Shit like this is why I will never buy things like smart printers, smart fridges, smart cars, etc. Heck, I don't even want to get smart security systems for my house.

- Bro, by 2025, we will have cured cancer and hover cars.
- 2025: Here is acne cream that doesn't work, whitening cream for your butthole, and a subscription model for your electric vehicle's battery and seat warmers.

Smart fridges running Android will bombard you with ads. There was a controversy regarding this in Texas (US) recently.

Also,
Subscription models for electric vehicle batteries and even seat warmers are a thing now. Really.

You ask people in the tech field itself, and they will tell you that they mostly don't bother with the smart shit. I have a client who works in cyber-security who says he will never purchase smart bulbs, smart fridges, smart printers, or smart vehicles. That should tell you all you need to know.

At best they may have caseless firearms tech, HAWC missiles, focused sound weapons (which were already used on protestors in the US and EU nations), may be even prototype coil guns and active camouflage. No working plasma or laser weapons, and nothing UFO/aliens related for sure. The latter two are distractions meant to focus attention away from imperialism and the ills of global finance capitalism.

Windows defender flagging certain web browsers' exe files as malware if you have the Privacy Badger extension installed. Just so you know: the people behind that extension have a history of legal actions against Google, Microsoft, and Amazon for breeching users' privacy.

We haven't even mastered caseless firearms tech. In fact, we have deemed the venture unfeasible at current technology levels. It will be a century by the time we can consider it again, according to experts in the field. So plasma or laser based directed energy weapons are a good ways away. Those we won't master until we figure out how to get as much energy output as a hand-grenade from a back-pack-sized battery. Even vehicle mounted proper DEWs won't be seeing the light of day till at least the end of the century.

If they did have such tech already, you bet your ass the US and Is-Not-Real would have already tried them out somewhere on some population. The fact that they still use missiles and tech developed in the 1960s should tell you that they probably don't.

I kid you not: I think the people of my country and the US enjoy being glorified slaves. They be like: Harder, Daddy!

These corpos already don't consider drinking water a basic human right, and want all water the world over privatized immediately. This was actually a topic of discussion once at Davos. I honestly would not be surprised if they do start talking about privatizing air soon.
