I mean... If he can get anything else for less that won't bottleneck the flagship GPUs of the day, isn't that enough?

    Goodnight, mouth farter.

Cpus nowadays are almost always the bottleneck in new games from what I see.

Hmm... Fair enough. I suppose it would be better to get something that is somewhat future-proof.

You can hardly even future proof nowadays. But most games are designed with ps5 as a base. The 7800x3d is like what 2x ps5? Most games seem to also target 30fps on ps5 so you're lucky if it scales to 60fps + on pc on the higher spec parts. There are cases where if you're on a budget you'd want to balance things, but I think he's the same as me. Anything higher end, I would be sparing little expense on the CPU. Either 7800x3d if you get a good deal right now (I know there are au mobo/cpu motherboards for just over 800aud which honestly is a steal). Or wait for 9800x3d.

Otherwise 5800x3d or 5700x3d are other pretty decent options. But for someone like loj it's kind of irrelevant. He wants the "**** it we ball" build minus maybe 5090/4090, doubt he'd want that much spent on gpu. But you could pair 7800x3d or 9800x3d with 4070 ti super 4080 4080 super 4090 or upcoming 5080 or 5090 or amd cards 7800xt 7900xt 7900xtx 7900 gre and I would call that a fine match up. But yeah my view is you'd get another 1-2 years of comfort of at least 60fps gaming for the most part vs spending slightly less on a slightly cheaper model. Upgrading the cpu on the one platform can be an option, but it can also be a meme for double spending cpu money for barely if at all any difference vs just buying the best cpu to start with.

It's situation and not really black and white but for @JoeJoe it kinda is imo.

All I want is a PC which will serve me right and won't make me lag the games...

Also I am surprised how much 1060 made me game xD I am still able to play games on like low mid somehow xD

But nah, I think I'll go better CPU and then super GPU, I kinda don't wanna spend 4000 euro on a PC, budget wise maybe 2500-3000. Maybe.

Yeah, you definately want the highest tier cpu imo. That will either be 7800x3d or 9800x3d that launches in two weeks. Decision will come down to performance increase and cost of the parts. If I were you and not getting the biggest flagship gpu then the pick would probably be either 4070ti super, 4080 or 4080 super. These should all be 16gb vram models. You really don't want less vram than this. Either that or 5080 when that comes, but it seems like that might be negligible performance uplift compared to 4080 and 4090 > 5090 uplift and 5090 will prob be like 2k usd/euro so that and 4090 seem out. If you don't care about dlss/raytracing/nvidia, then other options are the higher tier amd offerings. Should set you comfy for years.

I want Nvidia GPU and I might risk AMD CPU at this point, but I'm still scared

    Yeah, I figured.
    As example 2k

you could stretch to 64gb ram, up to you if you'd want to do that, might be worth going for atx 3.1 psu too you prob would need higher watt than what yo've got too. But yeah, could **** around with gpu too. I didn't specifically check ram compatibility on the qvl list, but you might hcange that or mobo around, etc. But as an idea that's right on 2k for cpu mobo ram gpu (would need cpu cooler and psu and maybe case if you didn't reuse yours)

My laptop has a higher powered GTX 1650 mobile which is only 15% behind the average GTX 1060 in real world gaming benchmarks. I can still run most modern titles. Obviously only at low or at best medium, but I can still run them with stable and playable frame rates.

Yeah. Euro 2500 is more reasonable. Gobb-kun can help you out with what you need.

That reminds me... Weren't you planning on buying a Schenker/XMG laptop?

I'm not sure if there are better options now, but when I built mine, ddr5 6000 cl 30 was basically the "holy grail" of ram for that cpu. But yeah aside from 4090, that is best cpu and gpu currently, maybe not model of 4080 super but you know what i mean
