A sun god was mentioned. So was a water god and I believe earth god. These are incredibly vague pieces of information which can easily be used an expanded on later if so desired. But they can also be left alone without issue. This isn't really foreshadowing so much as it is leaving something intentionally vague which may or may not be able to be used at a later date if desired. What does that have anything to do with Luffy having a mythical zoan fruit from a rubber fruit?

I think you misunderstood the entire point. The argument was never that a sun god didn't exist. I'm not that stupid.

Luffy was always inferred to be like Joyboy from when Joyboy was introduced. I don't recall until recently that the Sun God had any sort of "persona" or such things attached to him. It was a blank slate as far as I recall there were only 2 prior mentions of a Sun God, unless I'm mistaken? Firstly Elbaf Flashback and then the original all the way back in Skypiea. I believe it was after Luffy or around when he awakened that Nika and Joyboy even had a connection. Even now it's only heavily implied not confirmed ot my knowledge.

Edit: Obviously the Bonney Flashback, but that was post-G5 so I didn't count.

 

The Sun God is a God. It's the fruit that holds the name of a God (The Sun God). It was later explained that is the case. I believe that was during the Kuma/Bonney flashback? That is already after Gear 5. That's not foreshadowing if the events of Luffy obtaining the ability/power/fruit change occurred it's irrelevant.

Luffy was already heavily implied to be Joyboy or his successor. It was only recently as I said that Joyboy and the Sun God/Fruit were connected. This is also not foreshadowing because it was already heavily implied of Joyboy's vague relation to Luffy. If anything, the Luffy-Joyboy relation is the foreshadowed stuff. the Sun God stuff was added after. So you are saying it was all foreshadowed but at the same time it couldn't have been mentioned? That doesn't make any sense, that isn't foreshadowing.

Why would that need to be planned? As I already said it was heavily insinuated/implied the Luffy/Joyboy connection. Adding the Sun God aspect/fruit change doesn't make any difference to that Luffy/Joyboy connection at all. That has nothing to do with the Ancient Kingdom being planned? Oda can have ideas to use and know about the Kingdom, but that doesn't mean or imply he had the entire different fruit planned, a long with every aspect of the Kingdom. Or that the Sun God was always related to it.

I don't know about the detail surrounding a sun god being mentioned in the same arc as the ancient kingdom, but that doesn't really prove any sort of connection. Two different things can be mentioned in the one arc but not be entirely related.

I think you underestimate the ability to plan a story and not have changes along the way. For example, Doffy was originally planned to be apart of Wano's arc. But this was later changed. This proves without a doubt that One Piece isn't 100% pre-planned and things can change.

I remember he complained about having trouble fitting what he wanted within the 20 page limit of chapters and wanted 30 pages. Wouldn't you just split the chapter that is too long into two chapters? It kinda didn't make sense to me.
