Almost done with yugioh vrains

its kind of a mess but still my favorite ygo spin off since 5d's and I'm glad I gave it a shot after all these years. It's tonally the same as the first 3 series and pretty much all of its flaws come down to behind the scenes problems

the cast is good, the plot is genuinely unpredictable even to a life-long fan of the franchise and the duels are cool

 

Oh, Ali Express is much worse. That is without doubt.

Yeah, Asus has really gone down hill. Acer laptops these days are a bit better (though I wouldn't say top notch). I'm typing this out on an Aspire 7 right now.

Asus is still better than Dell and HP though. Those two brands are just chicken-shit.

Sounds like a software issue indeed. I have seen similar issues in with some Dell and Lenovo laptops. Also on Acer Nitro.

Have you considered uninstalling and reinstalling the Asus software in question? This usually works on Acer's Nitro line-up, but I'm unfamiliar with its Asus counterpart.

 

Yeah, nowadays we just have to go with the option that is the least crappy or just "meh, good enough" instead of actually great products. At least this seems to be what's up with electricals, electronics, vehicles, and software. Welcome to late stage capitalism.

I am planning on getting a new smartphone later this year or early the next. You know about picking "lesser of these evils"? I'm essentially playing a game of picking "lesser of these pieces of sh!t".

Mid-range smartphone options from 2014 to 2019 were a good lot of "jack of all trades" smartphones. But since 2020 it has all been downhill. Either the jack of all trades phones are more expensive than ever or the ones that are available at reasonable prices are neutered in some way or the other. So you end up having to choose a mid-ranger that is a "jack of most trades" and sh!t in one or two areas.

 

Samsung s23 ultra shouldn't be so expensive nowadays and is probs best of them lot

 

I'd ask about customer care, but Asus customer care is horrendous.

Even the Galaxy S23FE is INR 10k above my budget. I'm looking at phones in the same price bracket of the A34, A54, A35 i.e. INR 25k to 35k.

Other than those... Motorola has some excellent already-released and upcoming mid-rangers (with good enough cameras to boot). Only issues I can pinpoint with them are slow RAM (even though they give ample RAM quantity) and long term software support (or the lack of such). To my surprise, they score rather well on repairability due to easy availability of some parts online in many markets (such as displays). The main selling point with Motorola for me is excellent mobile signal reception and wi-fi reception. Also battery longevity (not battery back-up, which could indeed be better, but battery lifespan).

The problem is that my budget is INR 25k to 35k. That's like AUD 460 to 650. Or Euro 280 to 390.

Right now I'm pissed off enough to actually consider a feature phone. Only things it needs would be fast 4G connectivity and hotspot (and there are seemingly more than a few feature phones with these features).

Because of software "updates" that purposefully castrate the damn thing.
