looking for a laptop for university that can run multiple applications at once (such as excel, java, etc), preferably solid state, and around the range of $900 or lower CAD any suggestions?
This really isn't helpful, but tbh, most laptops nowadays seem like hot garbage. Something like these seems okay https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Think...CR38F8DGB9J7MJSFBY31&qid=1566712710&s=gateway https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Latitud...JE11DKCAGVR&psc=1&refRID=W4TXGF99TJE11DKCAGVR https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-E590-...JE11DKCAGVR&psc=1&refRID=W4TXGF99TJE11DKCAGVR or maybe you might be better off with a mac
I have the one in the first link somewhere and I barely ever touched it, my dad just gave it to me at some point to use since he got it from work are these real suggestions or are you memeing
they were what popped up, but given the price range, you shouldn't expect much better. You need to spend bank to get a high end laptop. Everything here for like 6-800 has like 4gb ram or 8 if you're lucky and a ******* pentium processor or cellron or whatever. lol
uhh, I'm not really looking for high-end lol, $900 is more than enough of a good price point considering I'm buying it for student life also it really doesn't cost that much to get a standard i5 here even after conversions what I'm looking for isn't really specific for gaming, it's mostly anything that can have a longer battery life, as well as handle multiple applications as well as the ability to do light gaming since whenever I made this thread, I went to a few stores to look at a few laptops that are a better bang for the buck, which is why the ones you suggested kinda surprised me tbh
If you're using multiple applications you'd want 8gb - 16gb ram, for using cad you'd probably want a fairly good gpu and cpu. Excel, Java, etc, basically anything works, but if you're doing hardware demanding work such as graphics, or video editing, then you'll need a decent cpu and gpu. There's not really much to consider outside of this.
