Some idiot with a shotgun once charged at me. I had a sniper rifle. Just let off two shots at his legs and he went down.

I once charged someone - like a madman - with a shotgun and got off three shots. He let off five with his pistol and killed me quickly.

By the way, here is an old meme that spawned a mod:



The mod in question is for Halo Custom Edition. The "Halo 1 Pistol" in the mod is hilariously overpowered. It has as much range as the sniper rifle, a much higher rate of fire than the original Halo CE M6D pistol, and each shot is as destructive as a shot from the Scorpion tank's main cannon.

The only drawback is that you'd kill yourself in close quarters combat.
