Due to high amount of like spamming lately we will be forced to change things about liking UNLESS you stop freewillingly.

    Thanks for understanding.

My opinion on the matter is that I don't see any issue with Likes been spammed. It's not that important anyways to make a fuss on it. :keepo

However the problem is the Like Alerts been sent out to everyone. To solve this, either we should disable alerts been sent when posts are liked or members should themselves disable like alerts here: https://www.sugoidesu.net/account/alert-preferences. :kappareaper

There was a missunderstanding, before liking gave keno...now it doesn't how it seems but that still doesn't mean you should spam likes like crazy.

I dont support it but I dont care. Person can do whatever he wants to
Tho if someone asks to not spam them and someone still does it, Action can be took.

I don't think action needs to be taken. The person should just disable like alerts if someone is spamming his likes. This is something trivial so I don't think any focus should be put here.

All like alert related problems can be solved by the user disabling the alerts. So the staff don't need to be involved. :kappa

Your take on this is fine and welcome for discussion. But as the staff of this forum, we're specifically asking for users to not continue this sort of behaviour. If you wish to spam people, ask them first. There is a different between spamming and liking a few things of their content, yes. You should be asking people before spamming them. It's common courtesy. If they are fine with it, go nuts; if not, leave them be.

No. That's an inconvenience for a member where the issue isn't even their fault. Why should they lose functionality that they do not wish to for the sake of another member doing something that annoys them? If you want to spam someone's like, ask them about it first. If they're cool with it, it's fair game, if they're not, then do not do this sort of thing to them. It's pretty simple and something that's common sense at the base-line, right? We're talking about common courtesy here.

I don't see the issue with like spamming tbh, i disable every like-related alerts every time i sign up to a forum and let people do whatever they want. If i want to see who liked my posts i can always check the ''Likes you've received''-button and that's it.

Sure, it's not an issue if you don't get them in the first place. But it still comes back to this:

I could agrue that seeing who liked someone's post isn't important, so they can very well just turn off their alerts, i'm not interested in what posts people are liking and what posts they aren't giving a like.
Maybe i just like having it a bit more organizined with my alerts, where i get a notifications for important things and can few the secondary ones (Likes) by hitting the ''Likes you've received''-button. I mean that button isn't there without a reason, so i can just turn off like-related alerts and have a peaceful life.

    It is important
Sometimes when you post a argument - A like means they agree with you.

I like to keep likes to what people actually like then spam

half times not sure - If person actually agreeing with me or liking for sake of liking

Thanks man. We try to keep it as free as we can for everyone. We're all just members. Something like this is better to be nipped in the butt now than when/if we expand further. It's more just about trying to encourage courtesy to your fellow members.

I understand where you're coming from, however at the same time it's denying functionality that they may like for the sake of someone being inconsiderate, which is inadvertently "punishing," - and I use the term loosely here due to a lack of better word - a user by proxy for literally doing nothing. Sure, I can try to create some sort of ignore alerts from x user in the future, extending to specifically like, posts, etc, but that's still not really trying to resolve the main issue here which is lack of consideration and general courtesy.

I would like to disable likes. However, I can't see myself doing it any time soon. As a Staff member, knowing when users "Like" posts that contain updates for new features, events & contests and a very handy thing to have. It means I don't have to manually check every single little thing that I need to get feedback from.

With this in mind, the Like spam is..... a bit annoying. I can't say it's very useful for me to get 35+ notifications every time I wake up when in reality only about 4 of them are important.

I find like spam a little annoying (over ten in the space of 2 mins for older posts) but i don't think it should be taken away completely +.+

But each to their own of coursies
